💥Lower back pain - Do’s & Dont’s💥
😱Its easy to freak out and start catstrophising as soon as we have a bit of lower back pain, thinking about all the worst possible scenarios
😇Truth is, back pain is super common (over 80% of people will experience it at least some point in their life) and is rarely serious
❌Usually, scans are not necessary and most cases will ease off within 6 weeks.
🚶🏽♀️When you get a flare up, the BEST thing you can do is… keep as ACTIVE as possible. Avoid complete bed rest, find movements that you can tolerate and temporarily limit those you cannot.
🔥Mechanical issues and soft-tissue injuries are the main cause of low back pain and can be temporarily relieved with HEAT eg. Heat patches and hot water bottles.
💊If you decide to take painkillers, consider NSAIDS (like ibuprofen), but always talk to your GP before taking medications
