What blooming fun!

The residents at Mayfield View have enjoyed creating bouquets from the flower cart, while listening to flower themed music and visiting the Mayfield flower shop. This created an afternoon of colour, fragrent aromas, reminiscence and fun 🌷

Cosmos Flowers also hosted a flower workshop where residents enjoyed creating rustic dried flower hangers. The residents recognised scents of and lavender and rosemary which created a lovely relaxing afternoon.

The residents enjoyed a selection of traditional sweet treats from Alan's nostalgic sweet cart this week.

With our very own shop keeper serving the residents, everyone was excited to tuck into their favourite sweets.

FIXER UPPER DAY!

What a fabulous morning integrating two generations and watching them express their creativity with newly leaned skills.

Children from the local primary school came to work on an upcycling project with residents in the Mayfield View Art Studio.

The residents and children spent time transforming a dull old cupboard into a bright and colourful new one using decoupage techniques.

Alan from the workshop taught the children how to use a drill. The children will use the parts they drilled to make Christmas tree decorations.

On 4th October 6 of our team will be taking part in the "Shine Night Walk"" in Leeds for Cancer Research UK. The walk is 10km around the city centre and will see hundreds of people wearing neon and carrying glow sticks.

We would really love your support to help us raise some money to fund the invaluable research which is conducted by Cancer Research UK.

🌿🚤 Canal Barge Trip Adventure 🚤🌿

This week, the residents enjoyed a wonderful barge trip from Skipton to Gargrave. Although the skies were a little overcast, it didn’t dampen our spirits – we loved soaking in the peaceful scenery, fresh air, and the gentle pace of the canal.

A highlight of the day was meeting some friendly swans who came right up to say hello (and may have had their eye on our picnic too!). 🦢💙

The trip sparked many happy memories, with residents reminiscing about family holidays and past adventures. It was so special to hear their stories and see the joy this outing brought.

💛 Moments like these remind us how important shared experiences are – creating new memories while cherishing the old.

Complete with comfy seats, the big screen, all the classic cinema snacks and mocktails everyone had such a lovely time enjoying the film together – lots of smiles, laughter, and even a few popcorn debates💛

✨ Bollywood Afternoon at Mayfield View Care Home ✨

The residents and team were transported to India for a vibrant Bollywood-themed afternoon! 💃🕺

There was music, dancing, and plenty of smiles all around. Vidya prepared delicious homemade dishes full of colour and flavour, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 🍛🌶️🥭

It was wonderful to see residents joining in with the dancing, clapping along to the rhythms, and sharing stories while tasting new dishes. Events like this bring so much joy, connection, and laughter to our home. ❤️

A big thank you to all the team for their creativity and hard work in making the day so special! 🌟

🌸 Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Mayfield View 🌸

The residents and team came together to raise awareness for breast cancer. 💕 We shared stories, wore pink with pride, and spent time learning about the importance of early detection and regular checks.

It was a day filled with love, laughter, and reflection – reminding us all of the strength, courage, and hope that surrounds this important cause. 💗

Many thanks to Grandma Wild's who sent us some amazing treats that were enjoyed by all.

A huge thank you to all the team, residents, and families who helped make today so special. Together, we continue to spread awareness and support those affected. 🎀

We also have an amazing hamper up for grabs in our raffle, tickets are just £1 and available from our reception.

We celebrated the best of God’s Own County with the wonderful residents and team. 🏞️💛
From a good ol’ Yorkshire brew to tasty treats, singalongs, and plenty of laughs, we enjoyed a day full of Yorkshire pride.
