Sadly, someone suffers a stroke every five minutes in the UK – but there are some simple things that we can all do to reduce our risk. This Stroke Awareness Month, we’re sharing the inspiring story of a Slimming World member who lost 4st 1lb after a stroke scare motivated him to turn his health around. Whether it’s chocolate, cheese or Chardonnay for you, you’ll find tried-and-tested tools and strategies to manage cravings in a healthy way at my Slimming World group.
Like all Consultants, I’ve been trained to guide members to find a way to enjoy their favourite foods without feeling guilty or putting their weight loss goals at risk, and you’ll meet other members with great tips to share from overcoming their own struggles. Though no foods are off limits, with Slimming World you’ll find your eating habits change and you’re naturally craving less of the foods that can jeopardise your health and weight goals.
Join me Thornaby Sports & Leisure Club Tuesdays at 5.30pm or 7pm to tame your tricksy trigger foods, without feeling like they’re the ones in charge!

Whether it’s keeping a lawn 🍃, courtyard 🌴, or allotment 🥦, gardening is a great way to get physically active, which can have so many health benefits to your body and mind, including improved:

Research shows that if you set yourself a goal you’re more likely to achieve it – and the more ambitious the better. A study of 24,000 slimmers by Slimming World found that slimmers who set an ambitious dream target weight lost almost twice as much weight as those who aimed for a more modest amount🙌. In my group, we set ‘mini targets’ each week, whether it’s to lose a couple of pounds, going for a walk at lunchtime or cooking with new ingredients. These mini targets help my members reach their end goal and it gives a sense of achievement, motivating you to go on to the next step.
