Triage Telephone Appointments

Telephone triage appointments help us manage demand and support more patients. However, we are still experiencing a high number of missed calls, even though appointments are usually booked only a few hours beforehand.

As a gentle reminder, please ensure your phone is switched on, kept with you, and the volume turned up (even if you step away briefly), so you don’t miss your call. Unfortunately, GPs and clinicians do not have the capacity to make repeated call attempts.

During your call, the clinician may ask you to attend the surgery in person or, if appropriate, to email photographs. Please be prepared for either option when booking your appointment.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

One of our patients received an automated message from an unknown number asking him to update his personal details for his medical practice. He was asked to select a language preference of English and Chinese. The recorded voice had an American accent.

Please note we would not ask you to update your personal details this way. This is something you do to let us know of a change. If we do try and contact you, we will leave a voicemail message asking you to call us back.

Please be careful of potential scams

🚨 BUSIEST WEEK OF THE YEAR 🚨

We are all prepared for what is historically our busiest week of the year.

❀️ So we can help you most effectively here are some things that might help

πŸ‘ seek help with minor issues from your local pharmacy or by using the NHS INFORM website

πŸ‘please give as much information to our reception team if calling for triage

πŸ‘please check you have enough medication for the holidays and order these EARLY

😷 please consider wearing a mask to the surgery as there are high levels of flu circulating

😷 please attend at your appointment time not too early to reduce spread of bugs in the waiting area

πŸ’ͺ the whole team is geared up and we have added extra locum capacity to help care for as many patients as we can

There are very high levels of viral illness circulating in primary school aged children at the moment. This is putting significant demand on our triage system at present.

Typical symptoms include a sore throat, vomiting and cough
