🙋‍♂️Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 🙋‍♂️

- we get asked a lot of questions about the blood test for prostate cancer
- it’s important to know about the test and discuss it with a member of the clinical team
- if you have SYMPTOMS such as poorer urine flow, difficulty starting and stopping the flow or being up overnight it’s more likely to be relevant
- men with a FAMILY HISTORY of prostate cancer or those of BLACK ETHNIC origin are higher risk
- please SHARE with the men folk in your life!

We are pleased to announce our Community Listening Service is restarting on 18th March 2026.

Through the Community Listening Service, trained listeners help individuals make sense of their feelings and find meaning in their stories as they find ways to cope with their experiences. The listeners do not have the answers – but they take seriously the questions people are asking.

Active listening is not counselling – it allows the individual to explore their story. With the individual's permission, the 'Listener' may suggest other agencies to help when specific counselling is needed. Listeners are registered with NHS Education Scotland and are supervised by the Department of Spiritual Care.

Appointments are available on Wednesday afternoons at Dalgety Bay clinic - just phone us or pop in to reserve a slot

Information about practice closure tomorrow afternoon from 1pm

Some GP practices are taking part in a Protected Learning Time session on Tuesday 10 March between 1pm and 6pm.

Practices take part in a number of sessions throughout the year to allow staff to access training. During this time:

PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Symptoms of prostate cancer can include
👉🏻 getting up overnight to pass urine
👉🏻 passing urine more often with urgency
👉🏻 poor flow of urine and dribbles at the end
