You may have heard in the news about some concerns raised in the USA about taking paracetamol while pregnant.

The stance from the UK Government is that taking paracetamol remains safe and is recommended.

Please read the information on this link if you want to know more

Patients should be reminded and reassured that there is no evidence that taking paracetamol during pregnancy causes autism in children. Paracetamol is recommended as the first-choice pain reliever for pregnant women, used at the lowest dose and for the shortest duration. It also acts as an antipyret...

What if a conversation could save a life?

Su***de is a topic that makes many of us nervous; it can feel like the hardest thing in the world.

Su***de Prevention Scotland's new campaign is about normalising the idea of talking about su***de - and giving people the confidence to do so.

Our event for people bereaved by su***de will take place in Edinburgh in September. Learn more and book your place - click here.

Aberdeen University Medical Student Placement (1 Sep - 17 Oct 25)

We're thrilled to welcome a final-year medical student to the team at Inverkeithing Medical Group! Now in their fifth year of training, they’ve spent countless hours in lectures, labs, and clinical placements, building the skills and knowledge needed to become a capable doctor.

During their time with us, they'll be gaining hands-on experience in general practice—consulting with patients, learning from our clinicians, and contributing to the care we provide every day. It's a vital part of their journey, and we're proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals.

After five years of intense study, clinical placements, and exams, they’re just months away from graduating and earning the title of Doctor.

If you are offered and accept an appointment with our student, they will all be supervised by one of our own GPs.

Caring for those with dementia can be stressful. For those who have friends or family at risk of wandering please see this FREE initiative between Police Scotland and Alzheimer’s Scotland

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CV5uJyLAX/?mibextid=wwXIfr

We’re proud to launch SafeConnect in partnership with Police Scotland – a new safeguarding initiative to support people with dementia who may be at risk of going missing.

The SafeConnect fob is a small, yellow device that can be carried or attached to clothing. It holds secure emergency contact details and can be scanned with a smartphone using Near Field Communication (NFC) to help quickly reunite someone with their loved ones or carers.

After a successful pilot in Argyll & Bute and West Dunbartonshire, we're now rolling out SafeConnect fobs free of charge to anyone living with dementia across Scotland.

To request a free SafeConnect set-up pack or learn more about the initiative, please visit our website - www.alzscot.org/safeconnect-request/

📢 Important Update:

Appointment Requests Are Changing – From 1 September 2025

We have listened to your feedback about the challenges faced in contacting the Practice to arrange urgent same day appointments.

To help us better support our patients, we’re changing how ROUTINE appointments are booked.

🕗 Urgent (same day triage) appointments – Call from 8:30am
📞 Routine (non-urgent) appointments – Call from 10am

What's changing:
✅ Routine appointment requests can only be made after 10am
✅ Gives patients easier access for urgent same-day care
✅ Less pressure to call early for routine issues
✅ More routine appointments available within 2 weeks

💡 What’s the difference?

Triage appointments are designed for urgent concerns that need prompt attention—things that can't safely wait

Routine appointments are for non-urgent matters such as follow-ups, long-term condition reviews, medication reviews, and ongoing health concerns.

By choosing the right type of appointment, you help us care for everyone more effectively

Thank you for helping us keep our community healthy and supported! 🤝
