🌕 FULL MOON ∙ PINK MOON ∙ QUICKENING 🌕

The Pink Moon rises not in softness but in movement. Not the first stir but the undeniable surge.

Spring is no longer a whisper. It is here - pushing, opening, insisting. Sap rising. Buds breaking. Life pressing forward with quiet determination.

Named for the those first low spring flowers, spreading quietly close to the earth, the Pink Moon carries the frequency of emergence. Not the idea of growth but growth itself. Tangible. Unstoppable. Already underway.

There is a tenderness to this moon but it's not fragile. It is the tenderness of new shoots breaking through soil. The vulnerability of becoming visible after a long period of holding back.

Where the Blood Crow Moon asked us to see clearly, this moon asks us to respond.

To what has been revealed, to what is ready now. This is a moon of participation.

A moment where awareness alone is no longer enough - where something in us is being asked to move, to choose, to step forward in even the smallest of ways.

Under the Pink Moon, consider:

✨ What is already in motion within me?
✨ Where is life asking for my participation?
✨ What would it look like to trust the pace of my own unfolding?

There can be a temptation here to rush, to overextend, to grasp at the energy of spring and try to become everything all at once.

But this moon reminds us - becoming is a process and xxpansion requires rooting.

May this Full Moon meet you in the place where something new is already alive within you. May you trust its timing and your own. 🌕🌸

✨ THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE ✨

Okay… we’re a little late with this one this week 😅 but we’re here now!

And if we’re honest, it kind of fits the energy of the season. Spring has arrived… and with it, that familiar sense of things picking up pace. Life feels a bit fuller, diaries a bit busier and suddenly there’s a lot more going on both around us and in our own lives.

Since the Spring Equinox, the light has shifted and everything feels like it’s gently (or not so gently!) moving again. It’s an energising time but it can also feel a little chaotic if we’re not careful.

This is where your practice comes in.

A space to land. To take a breath. To move your body and clear your head amongst the growing busyness. Whether you’re feeling full of energy or slightly overwhelmed by it all, there’s something here for you.

Everything is running as normal this week, with full details and availability reflected in the booking schedule. We can’t wait to see you in the studio 💛

✨CLARITY & CONNECTION✨ Inverness Yoga Workshop

A 2.5 hour practice to explore the relationship between the heart space and the inner gaze - between feeling and perception, openness and clarity. As these two centres begin to come into balance, there can be a subtle but powerful shift: the breath deepens, the body unwinds and the mind becomes less crowded, more spacious, more quietly responsive.

In this workshop we'll move through a blend of:

✧ Vinyasa (to build warmth + flow)
✧ Yin (to open + soften)
✧ Myofascial release (to unwind deeper holding)

No pressure, no performance - just a chance to come back to yourself, all welcome.

🌸🌿 O S T A R A 🌿🌸

This weekend we stand at the threshold of Ostara - the turning of the wheel into balance, where light and dark meet as equals and something new begins to take root.

Not the first stirring but the first opening. Not the quiet spark but the moment it reaches toward the sun.

What in you is ready to emerge now? What has been patiently gathering beneath the surface, waiting for just enough light to rise?

Ostara is the festival of becoming made visible. Day and night hold each other in perfect equilibrium, and life begins to stretch outward - green shoots breaking soil, blossoms daring to unfurl, the world remembering its own aliveness.

For those who have walked these lands before us, this was a time of renewal and quiet celebration, honouring fertility, growth and the delicate balance that sustains all things.

This is not a moment to rush - it's a moment to align. Meeting yourself where you are becoming. Tending what is growing with care, patience and trust.

As the wheel turns and the light stands in balance, may you honour both your unfolding and your roots. May you welcome what is ready to bloom - in its own time, in its own way ✨

✨APARIGRAHA - NON-GRASPING IN A CULTURE OF MORE✨

There’s a difference between grasping… and being drawn.

In yoga, aparigraha is often translated as non-grasping - but in a culture that constantly tells us there isn’t enough, letting go isn’t always that simple.

So much of what we call “holding on” lives deeper than mindset. It lives in the nervous system. In patterns of scarcity, urgency and the quiet fear of missing out.

But what if not all desire is the same?

What if some of it isn’t something to control or suppress but something to listen to?

In my latest blog, I explore:

– the difference between grasping and devotional longing
– how scarcity shapes the way we choose
– what it means to soften into a quieter sense of enough

A more spacious way of moving through life begins here. . .

✨ PADMASANA (Lotus Pose) ✨

Padmasana is one of the most recognisable meditation postures in yoga, symbolising purity, awakening and the unfolding of consciousness. Like the lotus flower rising from the mud to bloom in still waters, this posture reminds us that clarity and wisdom often arise from deep within the grounded body.

Padmasana represents the ideal seat for meditation - stable, symmetrical and deeply rooted. When the body is ready for it, the pose creates a firm yet easeful base from which the spine can rise effortlessly, allowing the breath to move freely and the mind to settle.

At SSY we usually use the easeful sukhasana variation, which offers many of the same benefits. Sukhasana is often a more accessible seat for meditation and practice, allowing the hips to soften and the spine to lengthen without strain. In truth, the essence of Padmasana is not the complexity of the leg position but the quality of stillness and presence we cultivate once seated.

Energetically, Padmasana supports the upward movement of prana through the central channel (Sushumna Nadi), harmonising the lower and upper chakras. This steady, balanced seat invites the mind toward clarity and the heart toward openness.

Padmasana reminds us that meditation is not about forcing the body into perfection, it's about finding a seat where stillness, breath and awareness can gently blossom.

Specifically, the asana:

🌟 Encourages deep hip opening and flexibility in the knees and ankles
🌟 Provides a stable, symmetrical seat for meditation and pranayama
🌟 Supports an upright spine and spacious breathing
🌟 Helps calm the mind and deepen inward awareness
🌟 Encourages balanced energy flow through the chakras
🌟 Symbolises awakening, clarity and the unfolding of consciousness

🌕 FULL MOON ∙ BLOOD CROW MOON ∙ REMEMBERING 🌕

The Blood Crow Moon rises with a different quality.
Not the hush of deep winter, but something rawer. Thinner. Edged.

This is the moon of thaw and trace. Of what becomes visible against the melting snow. The dark wing crossing a pale sky. The red of life against white ground.

Traditionally, the Crow Moon marks the time when the crows return, their calls cutting through the quiet fields - intelligent, watchful, unignorable. In some lineages it is also called the Blood Moon, not in omen but in recognition: this is the season when the earth softens, when life and death sit closer to the surface, when what was buried begins to show itself.

There is nothing sentimental about this moon.

It does not steady us like the Snow Moon did. It wakes us.

The Blood Crow Moon carries a certain reckoning. A remembering of instinct. A sharpening of perception. It asks us to notice what we might prefer not to see: where energy has leaked, where truth has been diluted, where we have made ourselves smaller for the comfort of others.

And yet, it is not harsh for the sake of it. Crows are clever. Communal. Devoted to their kin. This is intelligence in service of survival.

Astrologically, this lunation moves through the axis of discernment and devotion, illuminating the places where our daily habits either honour or erode what we say we value. It shines light not on grand gestures, but on the small, repeated acts that shape a life.

Full Moons do not demand drama. They reveal pattern.

Under the Blood Crow Moon, consider:

* What is coming back into awareness?
* What truth keeps calling, like a crow at dawn?
* What must be cleaned, cleared, or consciously claimed?

This is a threshold moon. Winter loosens its grip but spring has not yet taken hold. We stand in between - more exposed than before.

Let the exposure be clarifying, let instinct speak, let what is no longer aligned fall away without spectacle.

Move with quiet precision.
Protect what is vital.
Feed what is real.

May this Full Moon bring clear sight and courageous honesty.
May you trust the wisdom that circles overhead. 🌕🖤

🌹PATHWAY OF THE ROSE - TANTRIK ECHOES, VENUS & THE RETURN OF THE MORNING STAR ✨

There is a current beneath the world we see, a pulse that moves through the cosmos, through the body, through the heart.

The path of the Rose traces this pulse, written in the geometry of Venus, in the cycles of descent and return, in the quiet reclamation of feminine wisdom. It is a remembering: that longing is intelligent, that eros is sacred, that what is hidden may be luminous.

I’ve explored this in my latest blog: the Rose Path, Venus’ five-petalled cycle, and what it means to live in a Morning Star moment. A path of devotion, descent, and subtle awakening.

✨ THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE ✨ There’s a subtle shift in the air now.

The deep stillness of winter is beginning to loosen and the first quiet stirrings of spring can be felt beneath the surface. We’re entering the gentle journey toward Ostara, with the Spring Equinox just four weeks away, a threshold of balance, renewal and returning light. This is a beautiful time for practice.

Not a time for pushing or striving, but for tending. For meeting yourself where you are. For small, steady acts that awaken energy slowly and sustainably, like the earth warming from within.

Practice now is about nurturing the seeds, breath by breath, movement by movement, trusting that what you cultivate with patience and care will begin to blossom as the light grows.

Everything is running as normal this week, with full details and availability reflected in the booking schedule. We're looking forward to practicing with you as we walk this quiet path toward spring 💛

For more than a year, I've been experiencing a quiet but steady pull in the background - a feeling that something was waiting to be brought forward. This retreat hasn’t come together in the way my others usually do, inspired by a destination & philosophy. It’s something I’ve felt deeply called to offer.

In September 2026, I'll be journeying in the heart of Provence, answering the call of the Magdalene journey into the Rose path - a time to step away from the noise of everyday life and return to something deeper, quieter and more true. I'd love for you you to join me...

Together we’ll explore:

• Daily yoga, meditation and embodied practice
• Teachings and storytelling from the ancient feminine wisdom stream - from the early temple traditions through to the Magdalene
• Sacred ritual and ceremony
• Time in nature and visits to places connected with her presence in Provence
• Space to rest, reflect and reconnect with yourself

Our home for the week is a breathtaking private estate surrounded by lavender, olive groves, oaks and the vast landscapes of southern France.

If you feel even the slightest pull as you read this, I invite you to follow it.

🌑 THE QUIET RESET 🌑

The New Moon arrived today at 12.01pm, opening the threshold into a new cycle, not with fanfare but with stillness.

New Moons are subtle beginnings. The sky is empty of light and the psyche follows suit, turning toward spaciousness, possibility and the gentle clearing of inner ground.

There is an Aquarian quality to this darkness - wide, cool, spacious. A reminder to loosen our grip on the personal storyline and feel into the wider field we belong to. To step back from the noise of who we think we should be and listen instead for what wants to emerge through us.

This is not yet a time for pushing forward. The seed is invisible. The work is quiet.

In yogic terms, this is śūnyatā - fertile emptiness. The creative void. The pause where the old pattern has dissolved, and the new has not yet taken form.

Let the mind unclench.
Let the future remain undefined.
Let yourself rest inside the open sky of not-knowing.

From this space, something true can begin.

🕉️ M A H A S H I V A R A T R I 🕉️ The Great Night of Shiva

Tomorrow, across India and beyond, this sacred night is marked with fasting, prayer, mantra and night-long vigil. Devotees gather in temples and homes to honour Shiva – the great yogi, the force of transformation, the one who dissolves illusion so truth can shine through.

Many stories are woven into this night. Some say it celebrates the divine union of Shiva and Parvati - consciousness and creative power becoming one. Others say it is the night of Shiva’s cosmic dance, the rhythm of creation, preservation and dissolution that moves through all of life.

In the yogic tradition, Shiva is the ultimate meditator, seated in stillness upon Mount Kailash – vast, steady and deeply present.

From our Ta***ic perspective however, Shiva is not only a deity to honour.

SHIVA IS AWARENESS ITSELF

The quiet presence beneath your thoughts.
The stillness beneath the movement of your life.
The spacious witness in which breath, sensation, emotion and experience arise.

If Shakti is the energy of life in motion, Shiva is the silent ground that recognizes it all.

Maha Shivaratri invites us to pause and remember this.

You don’t need elaborate ritual to align with the energy of the night. Simply create a little space:

Take a few slow breaths.
Sit in stillness for a moment.
Notice the silence between the thoughts.
Chant the mantra Om Namah Shivaya.

Rest, even briefly, as awareness itself.

Creating a small moment of presence or stillness on this sacred night can bring a sense of clarity, depth and quiet strength – a reminder that beneath the movement of life, there is something within you that is steady, spacious and whole.

Wishing you a peaceful and powerful Maha Shivaratri 🕉️
