An early happy Mother’s Day too all the mammas who have visited me this year 💕

Pregnancy is the beginning of our journey as mums, but it’s just as prevalent as raising your babies when they make an appearance later on. You spend 9 months growing, protecting, loving and nurturing your special bundle to ensure they get the best start in life.

Your journey into motherhood is one to be celebrated. Something we as mums should be super proud of!

After all being a mum is the best, most important job in the world 🥺💕

For Mother’s Day I am reducing the pregnancy massage to £30 for any vouchers bought for the occasion, treat your expecting partners, friends, family to the gift of pure relaxation at a time when it’s pretty tough to relax!

🤌🏼 OUCH 🤌🏼

I’ve expressed so many times on here how hard I found my third trimester. Between pelvic girdle and raynauds - I was literally counting down the days until Robbie arrived - then it was all forgotten, pelvic pain no longer existed and I forgot about all the pain of pregnancy because I was consumed by the love I had for my new baby boy and family 🥰

It was a few weeks after, when all was healed and I was fully immersed in bottles and bibs that my sister showed me this picture and it all came rushing back! 😬 I spent my life in this position.

Looking back I wish I had stressed the pain I was in to my midwife/Dr, do not suffer in silence!
My pregnancy massages were the only time I felt relaxed, calm and like my body was getting a break. Like everything that was tight and sore, hard and stiff was finally being given the attention it deserved!

You are doing such a wonderful job carrying your precious bundle and keeping him/her safe until they are ready to make their appearance - but do not forget about yourself in the process 💕

Mammas when you are getting your massages and I am working on your backs,hips and thighs to try and ease some of your pregnancy pains, the only thing I ask from you is to switch off, relax the body, relax your busy brains. 💕Pregnancy anxiety is real! 😔 Take this hour for yourself. If your mind starts to wander throughout, remind yourself to chill, focus on the massage, the music and the coziness of the blankets. Sleep if you want! You will walk out feeling more refreshed, relaxed and calm 💕

As the baby grows and the abdomen pushes outward, a pregnant woman’s posture changes, realigning the center of gravity over her hips 🤰🏼 This stress on the muscles and joints can cause shoulder, neck, lower back, pelvic, or sciatic nerve pain for some people 😓

Pregnancy aches and pains can be brushed off by others who are not experiencing it and some just don’t understand how draining living with aches and pains can be. Feeling emotionally exhausted by this is so common

Research supports the effectiveness of prenatal massage therapy for these issues. Research and also this gal 🙋🏼‍♀️ who has lived and breathed PGP for weeks throughout her pregnancy and relied so heavily on my massage therapist at the time. I can relate. I can listen. And I care 💕I tailor everyone’s massage to their needs and hopefully on the bed and thereafter you will be able to vouch for this ☺️🥰

Apologies for the silence! Tried to spend the holidays fully Immersed in family and friends and it was so so lovely to do so!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! 💕 I would like to take this time to thank all you wonderful people for keeping me so busy in 2021! Truly grateful 🥲

Hope all my expectant mammas are getting on great! How exciting to come into 2022 knowing this is the year your special baby will be in your arms 💕💫

I’m sure there are many NY resolutions flying around, losing weight, being kinder to the environment, getting fitter, making your bed each and every day no matter what the rush (maybe that’s just mine…) but I hope we are all remembering to put aside time for ourselves. Practice self care. As always a strong advocate for taking some time for ‘YOU’! 🥰

😡 PELVIC GIRDLE 😡

There is no word on this earth that makes me wince and cross my legs like this one ☝🏼 the pain is excruciating! Although pregnancy massage does not cure this pain, Only having your baby will do this, But massage can help to relieve the the target muscle strains and spasms in the groin/back/buttocks which are overcompensated by the new ways we move to combat the pelvic girdle. Girls that come to me with pelvic girdle will know I pay particular attention to their hips and the bottom of their back and all have said they felt relief and were looking forward to a decent nights sleep for the first time in weeks!

Some tips to get through the days nights with pelvic girdle:

💫 Sit down when getting dressed
💫 Keep your knees together when turning in bed or getting in and out of a car. Sitting and spreading your legs is no longer an option!
💫 When climbing the stairs, it’s one at a time
💫 Rest! If anything good can come out if PG pain it’s that you have a excuse to sit and watch Netflix
💫 Avoid pushing heavy objects such as trolleys etc and hoovers!
💫 Talk to your midwife - don’t suffer in silence. Although agony it’s very common and they have so many more tips to help you get through these painful days!

If it helps in any way at all, the minute I gave birth I never felt a single bit of pelvic pain since. So it’s not forever. You got this 💪🏻 ☁️ 💕
