Today Little Miss B has been so helpful at school! Refusing to wash her hands….or remove her jacket (one of those days you gladly wave her off to school and smile - your problem not mine 😂🙈).

Poor dads still not well after covid so B announces I is sick! What’s wrong? My heart is beating…

Egg has made it to the leith toy hospital and has been assessed by the teddy surgeon!

Have a sad little Miss B who misses her best friend and can’t wait for his return! So fingers crossed that’s super quick and normality can resume. Remains to see how she will cope at school without him but the promise of shopping for a new Autumn 🍂 outfit for his homecoming seems to be helping!

Well we made it through the 1st week back to school only 1 hic-up (well two if you count me heading to work minus a laptop/work phone or ID and relying on Ronald to rescue me 🙈🤦‍♀️).

Egg decided to play hide and seek and couldn’t be found in his ‘box’ where he lives during the day at school! This spelt disaster for Miss B (and us) que tears, anxiety and repetition for the afternoon till the next morning! The first night in 11 years with no egg, even I missed him! Thankfully he was found by staff (a new member had seen him and grabbed him for a sensory story for her class not realising the importance of Egg!!).

So today after years of ‘knowing’ but being dismissed we had the ASD diagnosis.

The frustration of referrals, rejected referrals, funding issues, battling a failing education system is real.

Having to travel 7 hours and luckily getting funding towards a private assessment after a complex referal process was finally worth it! The stress and worry of the journey, the anxiety around the hotel for Miss B really hits home how local authority’s are failing so many families in similar situations. Having the best man by my side to navigate the ‘sh*t’, moan at and laugh with and of course us having having the best daughter and egg to muddle us through this Journey makes it all a little easier…

We now head back to school, attempt to make a smooth transition between NHS/disability teams and continue to lobby the local authority for a suitable home for our daughter.…
