βοΈ Jaunuary and February are our busiest time of year for injuries. So here is some of our advice for training in outdoor winter conditions-
πͺ Wear appropriate clothing. Long sleeves and leggings/trousers. The most common injury we see are pulled muscles due to cold temperatures.
πͺ Wear appropriate footwear for the conditions.
πͺ Ensure you complete a full warm up and stretch pre and post walk/run, this will help to warm your muscles up and avoid injury.
πͺ Keep well hydrated, water or isotonic drinks while training can be very beneficial.
πͺ Should you become injured whilst training, please stop. Do not push yourself through any pain, as this can make an injury far worse.
