Tonight I was back at Aldourie Castle, entertaining some lovely guests.

I continued the entertainment by playing them over to the Steading, 🥵 where I piped in the Haggis for their meal and presented Burns', Address to the Haggis.

"Fair fa' your honest sonsie face..." and all that jazz 😁👍

Tonight's presentation to a lovely group of German tourists visiting the Highlands, once again in the Royal Highland Hotel, Strathpeffer. We have a break now from the tour groups for August, but we'll be back at it again in September. Until then, safe travels everyone. Auf wiedersehen.

Back to the lovely Aldourie Castle today to play for special ViP visitors from the US.
They were treated to an 18th Century Jacobian re-enactment as well as a tournament of Highland Games and an all round full Scottish cultural immersion. (Including the dreaded Midges 🦟🦟🦟).
Safe journey home to the whole family.

It was a pleasure to play for Terry, a retired firefighter, on his 70th birthday today at his home in Alness. We all had a good laugh and although Terry is a Londoner born and bred, the sound of the pipes is always an emotional experience for him. Happy birthday Terry, all the best, have a great day.

Today we were on duty with the City of Inverness Pipe Band for the UK Championships held within the Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston.
The weather was great and we all had a chance to shake off the cobwebs on our first contest of what has become a very short season. Well done to all prizewinners and the RSPBA - The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association for staging the contest, the venue has potential and with a few tweaks it could be a contender for a more permanent fixture!

This evening I was back at the Royal Highland Hotel in Strathpeffer having fun with a group of German visitors. It's always a good laugh to get a few of them in kilts and make them dance the Highland Fling!!

Today's wedding of the lovely Ngoni and Alex, held at Alex's family home in Kirkhill, by Inverness.
The rain stayed away and it was a lovely private ceremony.
Best wishes for the future.

Any local "MacKenzie" pipers available for this?

"I am looking, on behalf of the Clan MacKenzie, for a piper for their annual “Kirkin’ O the Tartan” Gathering.

Their event will be in the Spectrum centre, Inverness, either on Monday 4th August or Wednesday 6th August, from 7 to 8pm."

Either contact the Clan directly, Susanne at Cultarlann or message myself and I'll pass it on.

Today I had the pleasure of playing for Kati and Petri's wedding/commitment ceremony at the Inverness Town House.
Kati and Petri are holidaying from Finland and they had a lovely ceremony with a small group of their close family. Their tune choices was quite a select list, "The Gael" (Last of the Mohicans theme tune), "I was made for loving you baby" by Kiss, the Pirates of the Caribbean theme tune, the Star Wars theme tune followed by some incidental trad Scottish stuff 🤪.
The Inverness Town House is a beautiful venue for a wedding and is steeped in history.
For info, Mr & Mrs Inverness Pipers were also married in the Town House.
Best wishes and good luck, safe journey home.

Tonight I had the honour of playing for Robert on his 64th birthday. The original plan was to celebrate his 60th birthday, but when Covid kicked in the party had to take a back seat. So 4yrs later, Robert and his family and friends from the USA, finally made it to the Lodge at Loch Stack (in the middle of nowhere beyond Lairg) in the dramatic surroundings of mountains, lochs and wildlife (including more Midges!!). Happy birthday Robert, safe travels.
