‘Meet the Team Thursdays’ highlights the incredible individuals who have been with us for over a decade. These Magnificent Seven are the backbone of our firm, and we, and the families we look after, wholeheartedly appreciate their compassion, professionalism, and loyalty.
Funeral Administrator Darlene Mackay is just efficiency in a nutshell – we genuinely have no idea how she gets through her vast workload, but she never misses a detail, and creates an outstanding rapport with our families, for whom she is often the first point of contact.
Over the decade she has been with us, Darlene has developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of our business and an incredible memory of our families, and she keeps all the funeral directors right, so that we can deliver on our promise of getting every funeral right for every family.
Vicki said, “Nothing is ever too much trouble for Darlene, however busy she is. She is completely unflappable, organising us all and keeping us right, and alongside that caring and empathetic manner is a really cheeky personality. She’s always got the kettle on and makes a great ‘droppy hot’.”

"Many families avoid talking about what they would want for their own funeral, which can leave loved ones facing difficult decisions at an already emotional time."

‘Meet the Team Thursdays’ highlights the incredible individuals who have been with us for over a decade. These Magnificent Seven are the backbone of our firm, and we, and the families we look after, wholeheartedly appreciate their compassion, professionalism, and loyalty.
Susan Fraser has been a valued member of the team for 11 years. She is a qualified Funeral Administrator and although her primary role with us is running the Memorials Department, in truth she can turn her hand to anything, whether that be sewing on a button that has popped off a uniform last-minute, driving the ambulance, or helping a family with the arrangements for their loved one’s funeral.
Caring, calm, and quietly efficient, she’s also our office baker, and keeps us supplied with delicious, sweet treats, which are incredibly welcome, particularly on some of our tougher days.
Vicki said, “Susan’s friendly, kind, and compassionate nature isn’t just reserved for our families, she treats us all with that same caring manner. She is a wonderful support to all of us, particularly to Darlene, and we can’t imagine the office without her.”
