As we come to the end of 2024, new opportunities await us in 2025; some of which gifting us with hope, and belief that there is a life beyond the challenges of drug and alcohol use.

You may experience problems with drug or alcohol use however, this does not disqualify you from having goals, nor does it make you unworthy, or incapable of achieving such goals.

You are the architect of your future; engage your mind, and make a life of recovery your reality.

Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year ❤

In 2023, 1,172 people died from a drug overdose in Scotland; opioids, such as he**in, methadone, codeine, morphine, tramadol, were implicated in 80% of these deaths.

Naloxone is a medication which can reverse the effects of an opioid related overdose; administration of this can buy the casualty time until Paramedics arrive on scene.

Anyone in Scotland who is using opioid drugs, their family members, friends, and the wider community are encouraged to request a Naloxone kit and training on its use.

Together we can save lives.

For further information, please contact Highland Alcohol and Drug Advice & Support Service (HADASS) - 01463 717594

We manage the Overdose Awareness and Naloxone Programme in North Highland. This programme offers training to everyone who comes in to service, their families and friends and other areas to recognise the signs of an overdose and administer Naloxone nasal spray in the form of Nyxoid to reverse the effects of an op**te overdose while awaiting the Ambulance service.

Nyxoid is a licensed nasal spray very easy to administer and discreet to carry.

In the last 12 months we have issued:
596 Naloxone take home kits

We have completed refresher training with all the health professionals across Highland in the Drug and Alcohol Service as well as 3rd Sector staff.

Be overdose aware, contact HADASS for training and supply of Naloxone; you have the potential to save a life!

Reduce drug related deaths ❤️

Please contact us on 01463 717594 if you would like more information about being trained to carry this life saving drug.

Co***ne;

I tempt you into risky behaviours, increasing your potential to contracting Blood Bourne Viruses and sexually transmitted infections.

When you snort me I cause nasal capillaries to bleed, these can be of such tiny amounts so much that the naked eye can not see.

You pass Blood Bourne Viruses such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV around by sharing rolled up notes or any other drug paraphernalia with your friends or strangers.

Contact Highland Alcohol and Drug Advice and Support Service (HADASS) for a Blood Borne Virus test on 01463 717594.
