Last night, Highland Security Ltd had the honour of providing security at the VIP opening night of the historic Boleskine House.
Nestled on the south-east shores of Loch Ness, Boleskine House has a rich and fascinating history dating back to the late 18th century. Originally constructed in the 1760s, the house became most famous as the residence of the infamous occultist Aleister Crowley, who lived there at the turn of the 20th century. Crowley reportedly chose the property for its secluded location, using it for spiritual practices that have since become part of the house’s enduring legend.
Decades later, the house captured the attention of Jimmy Page, legendary guitarist of Led Zeppelin, who purchased Boleskine House in the 1970s. Page, a known collector of occult history, preserved the property and further cemented its place in cultural folklore.
Tragically, the house suffered extensive fire damage in both 2015 and 2019, leaving much of the structure in ruin. However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Boleskine House Foundation, restoration work began in 2019 with a vision to return the property to its former grandeur. Today, that vision is becoming a reality, with the house preparing to reopen its doors to the public in 2026.
Highland Security Ltd is proud to have been selected as the security provider for this prestigious and historic site.
