It is always wonderful when someone takes the time to write such a wonderful review. This is from Izzy. She came to me as she had to go for an MRI. I have worked with many people before with the issue of feeling very, very claustrophobic. I am pleased to say that not only was she a delight to work with, she had her TWO HOUR scan with no problems in terms of feeling uncomfortable.

What an amazing lady!

AI and the Vulnerable Mind: A Quiet Danger We’re Not Talking About Enough
By Scott Burke, Professional Hypnotherapist

As a hypnotherapist, part of my role is to understand the minds of those I work with—not just who they are today, but who they might become under different influences. Many of these individuals are not bad people. They’re vulnerable—dealing with loss, addiction, guilt, anxiety, or trauma—and in that vulnerable state, they become open to suggestion.
We’ve long known that suggestion doesn’t just come from people—it can come from media, environments, and language patterns. But there’s now a new form of suggestion quietly entering the room:

Artificial Intelligence.
AI Isn’t a Threat—It’s a Tool. But Like All Tools, It Can Be Misused.

It’s important to say right away that AI itself is not something to be feared. It’s an incredible technology with huge potential for good—helping with education, creativity, therapy, and connection. But like many powerful things, it carries risks when used without care.

Think of it like the “forbidden fruit” in stories or fables. Sometimes, simply knowing about something that’s off-limits makes it more tempting—especially for young or vulnerable minds. Parents understand this when talking to children: warnings can sometimes backfire if not balanced with guidance and trust.

Vulnerability and Curiosity: A Risky Mix
When someone is emotionally vulnerable or curious about darker topics, AI can become a mirror reflecting those interests. For example, some users have found ways to get AI to share dangerous information by disguising it as fictional stories or “just research.” The information might be packaged as a harmless narrative, but its effect on the subconscious can be real.
This doesn’t mean AI is evil. It means we have to be mindful about how we engage with it—and how we help those we care about do the same.

⚠️ What This Means for Therapists, Parents, and Educators
As someone who works closely with the mind, I believe the best response is not fear or censorship, but education and awareness.
For therapists: Stay curious about the role AI might play in your clients’ thoughts and behaviours.

For parents: Talk openly with your children about technology and the internet, including

AI—encourage questions but also set healthy boundaries.

For everyone: Recognise when curiosity might be turning into obsession or harmful exploration, and seek support.

Final Thought: Awareness Is the Best Defence
AI will continue to grow as part of our daily lives. It’s neither inherently good nor bad—it’s how we use it that matters.

By understanding the subtle ways AI can influence vulnerable minds, we can better protect ourselves and those we care about. Curiosity is natural. But with guidance, that curiosity can lead to healing, growth, and positive change—rather than harm.

Feel free to share or discuss. This is a conversation we all need to have—sooner rather than later.

Wow, very much appreciate this review I received from John. It does seem that the option of remote hypnotherapy is finally getting more support. This is something I have offered for over 20 years, my first client was from New York! Since then I have offered the remote option to clients in (and just to name few) in Portugal, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania, Botswana, South Africa, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand etc. as well as remote areas of Scotland 😀

I'm always grateful to receive feedback like this from clients. Victor described his experience as "Excellent, has made such a difference to myself and going forward in life."

Even more rewarding is knowing this was all achieved through remote hypnotherapy—a powerful and convenient approach that allows people to make real, lasting changes from the comfort of their own space.

Remote sessions continue to prove that location doesn’t limit transformation.

How Hypnotherapist Scott Burke Can Help with Weight Loss Issues

Losing weight can be an overwhelming challenge for many, with fad diets and exhausting exercise routines often providing only temporary results. For those seeking a long-term solution that addresses the root of their relationship with food and habits, hypnotherapy is becoming an increasingly popular choice. Hypnotherapist Scott Burke, known for his expertise in working with issues like anxiety and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), also specialises in helping individuals manage their weight through the power of hypnotherapy.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to bring the mind into a deeply relaxed state. In this state, the subconscious mind is more open to suggestions, allowing the therapist to guide individuals in making lasting behavioural changes. For weight loss, hypnotherapy works by altering the subconscious attitudes and beliefs that influence our eating habits, cravings, and motivation for physical activity.

How Scott Burke Can Help

Scott Burke has helped many people achieve their weight loss goals by addressing the underlying emotional triggers and mental blocks that often lead to overeating or unhealthy lifestyle choices. Burke’s sessions focus on reprogramming the mind to develop a healthier relationship with food, reduce cravings, and foster a greater sense of self-control.

Through guided hypnosis, he helps individuals identify negative thought patterns related to eating and body image. By replacing these with positive suggestions, hypnotherapy can assist in:

1. Reducing emotional eating: Many people eat in response to stress, boredom, or emotional discomfort. Burke works with clients to break these patterns by promoting mindful eating and emotional awareness.
2. Curbing cravings: Hypnotherapy can help diminish the power of unhealthy cravings, making it easier to choose nutritious foods and control portion sizes.
3. Increasing motivation for exercise: Hypnotherapy helps to rewire the brain to view physical activity in a more positive light, increasing the likelihood of maintaining a consistent fitness routine.
4. Improving body image: Many weight issues are deeply connected to negative self-perception. By fostering a healthier mindset, clients are better equipped to adopt lifestyle changes that support their weight loss journey.

The Effectiveness of Hypnotherapy for Weight Loss

Research supports the effectiveness of hypnotherapy in helping individuals lose weight. Studies have shown that hypnotherapy can produce significant and sustained weight loss when used alongside traditional methods like diet and exercise. For example, a meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found that participants who used hypnotherapy alongside weight-loss programmes achieved more significant weight loss than those who only used behavioural programmes.

Similarly, another study published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology found that hypnotherapy helped participants lose more weight and maintain the loss over a two-year follow-up period compared to those who did not use hypnosis .

Conclusion

Scott Burke’s tailored hypnotherapy sessions provide a personalised and effective approach to weight loss by addressing the mental and emotional factors behind unhealthy habits. With his expertise, clients can develop a healthier mindset and achieve long-lasting results in their weight loss journey.

Overcoming Online Gambling Addiction with Hypnotherapy by Scott Burke

Online gambling, from bingo to betting sites, can quickly spiral from a pastime into an addiction that impacts finances, relationships, and mental health. As a hypnotherapist, I work with clients to break free from the hold of gambling addiction that drive compulsive betting. Hypnotherapy provides a unique approach, targeting the subconscious mind where these behaviours take root.

In our sessions, I guide clients into a relaxed, focused state, allowing us to explore and alter the thoughts and beliefs that fuel their gambling habits. Often, gambling addiction is linked to feelings of stress, boredom, or even a desire to escape from life’s challenges. By recognising these emotional triggers, we can replace the urge to gamble with healthier coping mechanisms. Hypnotherapy also helps clients regain control by reinforcing positive behaviours, such as mindfulness, restraint, and emotional resilience.

A key benefit of hypnotherapy for gambling addiction is its ability to help clients rebuild self-discipline and self-worth. Many people battling gambling addiction experience guilt and shame, which can lead to a cycle of further gambling as a form of escape. I work with clients to cultivate a renewed sense of control and confidence, helping them make choices that align with their well-being and long-term goals.

If online gambling is causing issues in your life, hypnotherapy could be the first step towards lasting freedom from addiction.

Building Confidence with Hypnotherapy by Scott Burke

Confidence is essential for personal and professional success, yet many people struggle with self-doubt and negative thinking. As a hypnotherapist, I’ve seen firsthand how hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool for building genuine self-confidence. Through hypnotherapy sessions, I help clients rewire their subconscious mind, removing limiting beliefs and replacing them with positive, empowering thoughts.

In our sessions, I guide clients into a relaxed state where we can access the subconscious mind – the part of us that stores beliefs, habits, and fears. Many of the doubts we carry stem from deep-seated beliefs formed earlier in life, and hypnotherapy allows us to identify and shift these beliefs. By embedding positive outcomes and focusing on inner strengths, clients begin to feel more confident in their abilities and self-worth.

One of the most effective aspects of hypnotherapy for confidence-building is its ability to help clients silence the inner critic. That voice of self-doubt can be replaced with constructive self-talk and a new sense of self-belief. Over time, this change leads to noticeable improvements in confidence, self-image, and how clients interact with the world around them. Hypnotherapy can be viewed as a powerful, lasting way to build a deep, resilient confidence.

If you’re looking to feel more self-assured, hypnotherapy can help you tap into a confident, empowered version of yourself.

Using Hypnotherapy to Succeed in Exams

Exams can be incredibly stressful, and as a hypnotherapist, I’ve seen how anxiety, self-doubt, and lack of focus can hold people back from performing at their best. Hypnotherapy can be an effective tool to help students and professionals preparing for exams build confidence, improve concentration, and reduce stress, allowing them to approach their studies with a clear and positive mindset.
When working with clients preparing for exams, I use hypnotherapy to tap into the subconscious, where patterns of thought and belief are formed. By guiding clients into a relaxed, focused state, I help them replace negative self-talk and stress with empowering thoughts that support success. For instance, clients learn to visualise themselves achieving their goals, fostering a sense of certainty and calm. This mental rehearsal can make a huge difference during exams, as it helps individuals access the information they’ve studied more easily and feel less anxious under pressure.

Hypnotherapy also enhances memory retention by helping clients focus on study materials in a more relaxed, effective way. By reducing mental clutter and boosting confidence, clients often find they can study more efficiently, ultimately leading to better performance on exam day. If you’re struggling with exam stress, a hypnotherapy session could provide the support you need to unlock your potential and approach exams with a fresh, focused mindset.
