🏃♀️🎉 Celebrating Amy – Marathon Star! 💜👏

We’re so proud of our amazing colleague Amy, who not only holds the title of Nominated Nurse of the Year, but has also just completed her first marathon in an incredible 5 hours and 42 minutes! 🏅👟

Amy ran in support of Mikeysline, raising over £850 for this fantastic cause — what an achievement! 💚✨

A few of our lovely residents even went along to cheer her over the finish line, making it a truly special moment for the whole Kinmylies family. 🫶📣
Amy, your dedication, strength, and compassion inspire us all. Congratulations on this amazing milestone! 🎊💪

🎉📋 Double Celebration at Kinmylies! 💙

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Kinmylies Care Home has received our Inspection Report — and we’re proud to have achieved 5s across the board! 🌟👏 This fantastic result is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion and teamwork shown by our amazing colleagues every single day.

As part of our celebrations, we also said a fond farewell to our Senior Care Practitioner, Jayne Geddes, who is moving on to new adventures. Jayne has been a valued part of our team, and she’ll be greatly missed by residents and colleagues alike 💐💜

Two posts in one day… which can only mean it’s been a very busy couple of months here at Meallmore and across our 27 care homes. Plenty happening, plenty to share - and no signs of slowing down yet!

This one just couldn’t wait...

Last month, our colleagues, residents, families and local communities laced up their trainers for the Meallmore Walks 1,000 Miles Challenge… and absolutely smashed it.

✅ 7,000 miles walked
✅ £7,000 raised
✅ All in just 7 days

Every step, lap, and stroll was in aid of Cancer Research UK, a cause close to so many hearts across our homes. From beach walks to garden circuits and fancy dress laps to sunset strolls, the creativity and enthusiasm were off the scale.

A huge thank you to every person who got involved, whether you clocked one mile or one hundred, donated, or simply cheered from the sidelines.

💙 Carers Week 2025 – Recognising and Supporting Carers Everywhere 💙

🗓️ 9th - 15th June

This week, we’re shining a light on the incredible work of carers across the UK – those in professional roles like our dedicated teams here at Meallmore, and the millions of unpaid carers quietly going above and beyond for loved ones every single day.

At Meallmore, we see first-hand the compassion, skill and dedication that carers bring to their roles – whether supporting older people, individuals with dementia, or adults with mental health needs. It’s more than just a job – it’s a calling. And it’s why we’re proud to support carers at all levels of our organisation with meaningful careers, professional development, and a workplace that recognises the impact they make every day 💛

We also want to take a moment to honour unpaid carers in families and communities across the country. Their efforts often go unseen, but they are the backbone of the care sector – and they deserve better recognition, resources, and support, including access to flexible pathways to further help.

🎉🎱 Game On at Kinmylies Care Home! 🏓🎯

We’re thrilled to share that Kinmylies now has a brand-new multi-purpose games table – complete with pool, table tennis, and ice hockey! 🎉

Our residents have been having a fantastic time trying out each game, sharing a few friendly challenges and plenty of laughs along the way 😄💬 From potting balls to fast-paced rallies, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

A big thank you to our wonderful colleagues for always bringing fun and variety into our days ❤️

🎉 A Special Birthday by the Loch! 🎉

To celebrate his birthday, Peter enjoyed a scenic trip out along the beautiful Loch Ness 🌊🎂 Accompanied by our lovely colleague Amy, it was a day full of smiles, stories, and stunning views!

Amy recently joined us as a newly qualified staff nurse in December, having previously supported Kinmylies as a bank carer while studying 👩‍⚕️✨ We’re so proud to have her on our team and even more delighted to see her helping make special memories for our residents 💙

Meet David (standing) and Nick, who lead our wonderful Wednesday music group here at Kinmylies! 🎸🎤

This dynamic duo brings joy, rhythm and toe-tapping tunes to our home each week, and it’s quickly become a favourite part of the residents' routine 💕 Whether it’s singing along, clapping to the beat, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
