✨ Kinmylies Lodge 2025: A Year in Moments ✨

From January’s first hopeful steps into a new year to December’s gentle closing notes, 2025 has been a year filled with connection, kindness, and countless moments that reminded us what makes Kinmylies Lodge so special 💛

Each month brought its own treasured memories, shared laughter, meaningful conversations, new experiences, and the everyday moments that quietly became the heart of our year.

What made 2025 truly meaningful wasn’t just the activities, but the people. Our wonderful residents, whose warmth, stories, and spirit brighten every day. And our dedicated colleagues, whose compassion and commitment create a place where everyone feels valued, supported, and truly at home.

We couldn’t be more grateful to walk this journey with such incredible individuals. Their presence is what turns Kinmylies Lodge from a building into a genuine community.

As we look back, we feel proud, thankful, and deeply moved by everything we’ve shared together. And as we step into 2026, we carry with us the joy, the memories, and the hope that the year ahead will bring even more moments worth cherishing ✨

🎄 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🦌

This December, colleagues, residents, families and friends from across all 27 Meallmore care homes came together to do something truly special.

Through our Meallmore Reindeer Run, we collectively:
✔ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝟰,𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀
✔ 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 £𝟮,𝟮𝟲𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 Cash for Kids – 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀
✔ 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀 to support children and families across our local communities

From walking, wheeling, cycling and adapting activities, to festive costumes, creativity and teamwork, this was a challenge that everyone could be part of — and that’s what made it so powerful.

More than a fundraiser, the Reindeer Run was about:
💚 Inclusion and connection
💚 Bringing people together
💚 Supporting families beyond our homes
💚 Showing what’s possible when communities work as one

Meallmore’s Reindeer Run saw 27 care homes travel 4,800 miles, raising £2,260 and donating over 250 gifts for Cash for Kids.

🎄✨ Reindeer Run Fun at Kinmylies! ✨🎄

What a fantastic day we’ve had taking part in the Meallmore Reindeer Run!

Our residents and colleagues were full of festive cheer, sporting their cosy Christmas jumpers and even flashing Rudolph noses! 🎅🔴

It was wonderful to see everyone getting active and enjoying the Christmas spirit together.

A big thank you to our amazing team for making the day so special!

🎄✨ A Magical Morning at Kinmylies Care Home ✨🎄

We had the most heart-warming visit today from the wonderful P1 children and teachers at our local primary school.

Santa and his cheerful Elf even popped in to say hello, bringing plenty of festive smiles! 🎅 The children and residents joined together to sing beautiful Christmas carols, filling the home with joy and sparkle.

We rounded off the morning with delicious hot chocolate and a sprinkle of reindeer dust – the perfect festive treat!

A big thank you to the children, teachers and our amazing colleagues for making today so special. ❤️

🏃♀️🎉 Celebrating Amy – Marathon Star! 💜👏

We’re so proud of our amazing colleague Amy, who not only holds the title of Nominated Nurse of the Year, but has also just completed her first marathon in an incredible 5 hours and 42 minutes! 🏅👟

Amy ran in support of Mikeysline, raising over £850 for this fantastic cause — what an achievement! 💚✨

A few of our lovely residents even went along to cheer her over the finish line, making it a truly special moment for the whole Kinmylies family. 🫶📣
Amy, your dedication, strength, and compassion inspire us all. Congratulations on this amazing milestone! 🎊💪

🎉📋 Double Celebration at Kinmylies! 💙

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Kinmylies Care Home has received our Inspection Report — and we’re proud to have achieved 5s across the board! 🌟👏 This fantastic result is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion and teamwork shown by our amazing colleagues every single day.

As part of our celebrations, we also said a fond farewell to our Senior Care Practitioner, Jayne Geddes, who is moving on to new adventures. Jayne has been a valued part of our team, and she’ll be greatly missed by residents and colleagues alike 💐💜

Thank you, Jayne, for everything — and congratulations to the whole team on this brilliant achievement!

Two posts in one day… which can only mean it’s been a very busy couple of months here at Meallmore and across our 27 care homes. Plenty happening, plenty to share - and no signs of slowing down yet!

This one just couldn’t wait...

Last month, our colleagues, residents, families and local communities laced up their trainers for the Meallmore Walks 1,000 Miles Challenge… and absolutely smashed it.

✅ 7,000 miles walked
✅ £7,000 raised
✅ All in just 7 days

Every step, lap, and stroll was in aid of Cancer Research UK, a cause close to so many hearts across our homes. From beach walks to garden circuits and fancy dress laps to sunset strolls, the creativity and enthusiasm were off the scale.

A huge thank you to every person who got involved, whether you clocked one mile or one hundred, donated, or simply cheered from the sidelines.
