Living with CRPS? We See You. We’re With You.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is one of the most challenging pain conditions—often invisible, unpredictable, and deeply isolating. At Caledonia Foot Clinic, we understand that pain isn’t just physical. It affects how you move, connect, and feel safe in your own body.

That’s why our team—many of us living with long-term conditions ourselves—offers care that’s not just clinical, but compassionate.

🌿 What We Offer:

Gentle, trauma-informed podiatry

Flexible appointment pacing and positioning

Quiet, sensory-considerate spaces

Clear communication and shared decision-making

Respect for your lived experience—always

We believe in Clinicians with Conditions: a model where empathy meets expertise, and your needs shape the way we work.

What Is a Podiatrist?
If you’ve ever wondered what sets a podiatrist apart, here’s the lowdown:

A podiatrist is a degree-qualified healthcare professional trained in diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower limbs. We’re regulated by the HCPC and work across everything from nail and skin care to complex pain, biomechanics, and diabetic foot health.

A Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) provides routine foot care—like nail trimming and skin maintenance—but does not hold a medical degree or have the same scope of clinical training. FHPs are not regulated by the HCPC and do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Think of it this way:

If you need routine maintenance, an FHP may help.

If you’re dealing with pain, swelling, wounds, or medical conditions, a podiatrist is your go-to.

At Caledonia Foot Clinic, all care is led by HCPC-registered podiatrists—so you can trust you’re in expert hands.

Diabetes and my feet:

Diabetes can quietly affect the nerves and blood vessels in your feet, making you more prone to numbness, wounds that heal slowly, and infections that can become serious if left unchecked.

But with daily care, many issues can be prevented. Here are a few tips:

1. Check your feet every day. Look for cuts, blisters, or changes in colour.

2. Choose socks and shoes that protect and support your feet, nothing too tight or rubbing.

3. Keep your feet clean and moisturised, but avoid putting lotion between the toes.

4. Get help early. If something doesn’t feel right, book in with a podiatrist before it becomes a problem.
