Michelle Clarkson, Consulting Medical Herbalist & Clinical Reflexologist Reflexology is a non-invasive, deeply relaxing pressure point therapy Hello there,

I have always been drawn towards the caring profession.

My background was working with people who have learning disabilities and their families. During a long career break to raise our youngest son I experienced ill health. Herbal medicine and reflexology brought me back to my old self, this left me committed to helping people on a different level. Following in the footsteps of my talented mam Angela Robinson, I became a reflexologist. I trained to lev

el 5 with Melanie Bell of CTS, which is validated by Napier University which allowed me to become a full member of the Association of Reflexologists. https://www.thects.co.uk/

I then undertook specialist fertility training with Barbara Scott of Seren Natural Fertility which allowed me to become a full member of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists. https://www.serennaturalfertility.co.uk/

I am a level 2 Usui Reiki practitioner which I use every day in my own life and can use this whilst practicing reflexology. I LOVE my work, LOVE the location and the people at the therapy room mum & I share at The Hub, Marketplace, Inverurie, and not least LOVE all of the wonderful people who entrust their feet to me! Currently I am in my final year of training to become a medical herbalist and expect the final clinical exams to be held in May, 2024 after which I hope to bring herbal medicine to the High Street! https://heartwoodeducation.net/

Please do contact me by phone, text message, WhatsApp or email if you would like a chat, I am always happy to answer questions, no matter how small.

This is an awesome free resource for those who would like to learn how plant medicine can improve our health. This docuseries brings insight into conditions such as annoying niggles that we can improve ourselves in the kitchen right through to full blown complex conditions where a medical herbalist can delve into individual cases (which are always unique). Many orthodox medicines are derived from plants, though knowledge on their biochemistry in relation to the human body is crucial in using them effectively & safely, as is knowing when to refer to conventional medicine practitioners, so to be safe always contact your local medical herbalist or GP.

HELLO WORLD!!! Time to leave the study (for a little while at least!) as I've reached the end of my course. This is a fraction of the work involved in becoming a medical herbalist - very tough but aside from having my kids, this is without a doubt the very best thing I have ever done. Can't wait for my certificate & registration to come through so I can start using the plants to help people 💗 until then, I'm really enjoying catching up with family, friends & those 101 jobs around the house & garden 🙈 and believe it or not, still studying daily - it's much more fun without deadlines 😆

This is one of the things I am asked so often - what exercise can I still do when trying to conceive or having IVF? What about during the dreaded two week wait? Or during my period? Is exercise good or bad for pain relief with endometriosis? What’s the best for PCOS? It’s so confusing and yet so important.

So this Saturday I am going to ask my favourite PT all these questions! And if you send me your questions too we can all get the answers from the expert!

The Japanese people are amongst the healthiest in the world, their government recommends having 30+ different plants a day - it's actually much easier to do than you would think & you only need a tiny bit of each. Plant chemicals, or "phytonutrients" differ from vitamins or minerals, and are often stored in the body for when we need them. There can be as many as 2000 different phytonutrients in one plant which work in countless ways to help us. This short video from Tim Spectre gives some quick & easy ways of getting more diversity into your diet :)

The variety of plants you include in your diet has a positive effect on the gut microbiome. In this video, Prof. Tim Spector explains:- What counts as a plan...
