We had a Christmas singsong yesterday afternoon 🎶 I’m not sure we would make Britains got talent but we all really enjoyed it 😀

The residents enjoyed a surprise visit from Santa Teddy and his helpers on Friday afternoon in their vehicle which was all decorated with lights and blasting out Christmas tunes. Thank you Sandy, Brenda & Philip for spreading the Christmas cheer. It was very thoughtful of you all 😘🎅⛄️

We tried our hand at making a microwave Christmas dumpling on Friday. The residents were all very sceptical on how this was going to turn out with comments like "how can it possibly be cooked in 7 minutes" & "it wont taste like a proper steamed dumpling"
Well, they had to eat their words after they tasted the delicious sweet as they all loved it and said that it tasted just as good as what they would have taken hours to prepare when they were cooking for their families at Christmas. 😋🎅

CHRISTMAS HAMPER/RAFFLE DRAW 18/12/25
We had a good crowd attended for the super Christmas hamper & raffle draw yesterday afternoon. Some family members attended too and joined us for a fly cup after the draw.
There was a lot of delighted winners of the individual raffle prizes and the hampers were won by
Muriel Chisholm, Irene Milne, Angelica, Karen Brailsford & Angela Randall. Well done to you all.
We also used the number generator to draw the lucky squares for the malt whisky and crystal glass we have been selling these past few weeks and the lucky winner was Kenny Abel. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day and contributed to the raffle prizes and bought raffle tickets. We managed to raise the grand total of £523 for the raffle tickets so along with that & the £88 raised for the lucky squares this has really boosted the resident amenity fund
Thank you again everyone for your support over the past year 😚😚

CHRISTMAS PARTY 16/12/25
We hope you enjoy looking at the photos of our Christmas party. The residents had such a great time dancing & singing along to Charlie Esson & Bill. The staff on duty entertained the residents with the Slosh and Helen did the Hucklebuck. All very entertaining and lots of fun.
The kitchen staff put on a fantastic buffet which was enjoyed by all.
Huge thanks to Helen Fellowes & Pauline Garden for volunteering their time to come along. Thank you to the rest of the staff for their input to ensure the party went with a swing. Seeing the residents enjoy themselves so much makes our jobs so worthwhile 🎅⛄️

HAMPERS & RAFFLE DRAW THURSDAY 18TH DEC

The draw takes place at 2.45 and it’s open for anyone to attend. Mincemeat pies and shortbread will be served with a cuppa 🍵 ☕️

Our raffle tickets are on sale just in at the door for our Christmas hamper & raffle draw which will take place on Thursday 18th Dec at 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along for the draw and get a fly cup. We still have to make up the hampers and there's been some other fantastic donations. Thank you all so much for the contributions 😚
The raffle tickets are £1 a strip. Write your name across the back of the strip and pop your money in the honesty box which is attached to the wall beside the table. All money raised goes to the residents amenity fund

MAKING CHRISTMAS TABLE POSIES (Thursday 11th)
This afternoon was a hive of activity with each resident making their own posy for their flat under the watchful eye and guidance of Aileen who very kindly volunteered her time to help. There was an abundance of greenery which was added 1st and then artificial red and white poinsettias, a bit of sparkle and fresh carnations & roses to finish. They were all very proud of their posies which will take pride of place in their flats. Aileen asked them to give the oasis a wee drink every day to save their posies drying out.
We presented Aileen with a bunch of flowers and gave a vote of thanks to her for coming in today and sharing her skills with us 😚💐

One of our residents celebrated her birthday here today and was quite happy to share her birthday cake with the other residents. Happy birthday Sheila from all your friends here at Pleyfauld House 😘
