Thank you to everyone who turned up today in this coorse weather for our tombola. All prizes are gone and we raised a fantastic £200 for the residents amenity fund. Thank you also to one of our care & support workers, Angelica and her partner Mark for donating all the fine cakes & cookies for the afternoon flycup.

2 tables full of goodies for this afternoons tombola. The weather may spoil this activity unfortunately but anything that can be kept will be boxed up and we can do again in the new year.

CUPCAKE DECORATING 18/11/25
Lesley, our cook very kindly made fresh cupcakes in the morning for the residents to decorate in the afternoon. There was chocolate, strawberry and vanilla butter icing to choose from and a variety of sweets and sprinkles to decorate them with. The best part they all agreed was then eating them with their cuppa. Thank you Lesley for helping with this activity 🧁🧁😋

MAKING CHEESE SCONES 14/11/25
The residents all had a hand in helping prepare this fine treat for our fly cup on Friday. The aroma coming from the tenants kitchen was just about too much to bear and we could hardly concentrate on the game we were playing whilst they were cooking !! They were worth the wait and were served warm out of the oven with a cuppa 😋

BALLOON VOLLEYBALL 🎈🎈
There was a lot of hilarity yesterday afternoon during this activity ! The staff were fairly tested for their fitness trying to keep all the balloons in play !! The residents really enjoyed it though so it was worth it to hear them laughing 😆 🎈🎈
We stopped for a flycup and finished the afternoon off with an alphabet quiz (which was less tiring) 🥵

'All at C' were our entertainers for the afternoon yesterday. The residents really enjoy their music, stories and banter. We have already got them booked again for early in the new year as their diary fills up quickly ! Dancing and singing are a valued part of most folks pasts and stirs some lovely memories which is beneficial to their wellbeing. The staff are always keen to participate and join in when they get a free minute for this reason 😃🎼🎤🎸

We told the residents that we were observing the 2 minutes silence this morning at 11am in the dining room. There was a big turn out and we observed it alongside live tv coverage.
We then listened to some of the memories of the war some residents wished to share and we asked Angelica to read out 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae

Yesterday afternoons beetle drive was very busy and they were all keen to get going. We had several tables of residents each shaking the dice in turn and drawing their beetles. We all started at the same time and the person who completed their whole beetle had to shout BEETLE and we then all had to stop and go on to the next game. We did stop midway for a cuppa and a rest !! 🥲 Then we continued for a further couple of games 😃
