The weather is finally warming up here in Aberdeenshire and I'm making plans for SUMMER!

If you want to book an appointment for SUMMER '26, here's what you need to know...

✈️ I'm going to be on holiday for a wee bit in June, which means my diary is even busier than usual before and afterwards. If you want to book an appointment in May or June, please do so now! There are only a couple of remaining spaces, move fast! ⚠️

📆 If your desired date is fully booked, please add yourself to the waiting list. You will then be notified if an appointment becomes available.

👧 During the school holidays (July and August) I will be working reduced hours. This is a gentle nudge to book your July and August appointments in advance.

~ Fiona Reiki & Crystal Therapy with Fiona Bonner will be offering her incredible Reiki treatments as usual at re:treat on Mondays throughout Summer.

Spring is upon us and I'm absolutely welcoming beautiful blossom + blue skies.

Spring also brings about a wee change at re:treat Apothecary...

We have been using Royal Mail to send all our online orders since launching in 2020 - and that will not change any time soon!

We love the service we receive from Royal Mail; reliable, speedy, safe delivery of your precious packages directly to your door (we all hear those stories of cheap couriers; losing your parcel, then delivering it weeks late directly into your compost bin, looking like an elephant sat on it - all while underpaying their workers 🫠🫠🫠).

However Royal Mail have increased their prices on 1st April. Usually we pass the price rise on the customer, however this time we had a review of our postage policy and have managed to tweak things to make postage CHEAPER for you. Here are the details...

☀️ S U N S H I N E ☀️

IT'S BACK!

That beautiful golden orb in the sky has returned!

Here in Aberdeenshire we have had the darkest winter ever - the longest spell without sunshine since records began in 1957. It's been rough!

Here in the clinic, my clients tell me how the weather and environment affects their mood. The sunshine and daylight (or lack of it) can have a big impact on our bodies and minds.

Vitamin D is essential for healthy bones, teeth and muscles as well as our immune system. Our circadian rhythm is controled by light and dark - our body clock responsibile for metabloism, mood and sleep cycles needs signals from daylight to stimulate our hormones correctly. No wonder we feel so out of whack when the sun disappears!

We get so little sunlight NHS Scotland recommends everyone takes Vit D supplement during the winter months. Check out NHS Inform Scot for details and dosage.

🌀 R E Q U E S T F O R H E L P 🌀

It has been 6 months since we moved into our new premises and I have been reflecting on the changes. I'm delighted with our new therapy space and I love being part of the community of small businesses within the building. 15 High Street now feels like home for re:treat.

For those that haven't visited, I have 1 therapy room at 15 High Street - there is no reception or shop within the building.

This new space works well for me and clients tell me the space works for them too. While I'm with a client in this space I'm 'at work' but it's deeper than that - I endeavour to create a safe, welcoming environment for clients to pause, unravel, and release. This is their space and their time - it is my responsibility to hold it for them.

To ensure this space is safe and sacred, I work strictly by appointment only - when a client books with me, they have my time, space and attention 100%.

However, over the past few months this has come with challenges.

My website details that I work by appointment only and there is a sign within the building explaining the same. However, I have had customers without appointments looking for me, sometimes knocking the door, sometimes walking right in, during a treatment. Sometimes customers are super understanding and apologetic for interrupting, sometimes they are not.

While this is a rare occurrence, I do have a duty of care to the client that has booked and paid for my time.

Therefore I'm posting this reminder and a request for help with the following...

🌲 OUT OF OFFICE 🌲

It's Christmas Eve and the out of office is on. After a busy year it's time for me to rest, reset and spend time celebrating winter with my loves (both human and food).

I had no idea 2025 would turn out as it has - and this unexpected journey landed me in a new location with a wonderful new team of neighbours Laura Leslie Natural Health Natal Balance Chapman Counselling

I'm so lucky to continue to have Reiki & Crystal Therapy with Fiona Bonner by my side at re:treat. As many of you know, Fiona is an incredible therapist and lovely person.

For the first time in years, I'm ending 2025 calm, rested, supported and hopeful.

A huge thank you to all my amazing clients and customers for supporting my wee business. But mostly thank you to those that trust me with your body and wellbeing, often at very vulnerable times in life. I appreciate each one of you.

I am now closed until Monday 5th January. Fiona is available for Reiki appointments during the holidays - please check website for availability.
