We will soon be welcoming Thanh Nguyen to the position of Data Scientist through Robert Gordon University's Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). Thanh will be making the move all the way from Vietnam to spend two years with AquaTerra Group.

The KTP plays an important role in transferring expertise and best practises between employers and RGU. Thanh’s role will involve contributing to the development and implementation of an integrity management system, specifically designed for analysing and automatically reporting ultrasonic testing data.

Collaboration is key, with a close partnership between the university, domain experts, and our data engineers. Together, they aim to understand the unique requirements of inspection tasks and data, utilising expertise in data manipulation and transformation to optimise data for accurate model training.

Through linking with RGU, we hope to participate in more KTPs in the future. Not only can we provide exciting opportunities for graduates, but we are also eager to learn from their fresh perspectives.

In our final blog post in the QuikDeck series, Kevin Nelson talks about building safety into design, and how the team at AquaTerra Group ensure that our QuikDeck installations provide safe, secure access to hard-to-reach areas of assets.

"The design of the structure or platform itself often includes specific provisions for underdeck access and workspaces... However, this is not always enough. This is where AquaTerra Group's scope often begins..."

📢NEW CASE STUDY📢

The decommissioning of the Dunlin Alpha was a significant undertaking, and AquaTerra Group led many of the critical scopes that took place between 2015 and 2022.

🛠 To get the platform ready for topside removal, AquaTerra Group provided Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) to prepare the concrete legs for the later removal of the platform topside by heavy lift vessel.

💡With constrained spaces, congested work areas, and live cabling and pipework in-situ, the scope brought some unique challenges for the AquaTerra Group teams

👷🏽QuikDeck® provided a safe and stable work platform for the personnel tasked with the internal and external clearance of the concrete legs

👀 Did you see the British Institute for NDT news at the start of September?

We were featured in an article from our Veritas development partners, AgileNDT.

We're hugely proud of the work we've done with them on Veritas - our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) report writing and management system developed for the creation and presentation of NDT reports.
