Hello,

Aberdeenshire Young Carer Strategy - We are young carers, who cares for us? 2018 - 2020

This strategy (or plan) of what we are going to do over the next two years (from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2020) is for all young carers up to the age of 18 years old and has been developed through discussions with young carers for their views to reflect the opinions of young carers across Aberdeenshire, and other key partners in social work, education, health and the third sector.

We encourage young carers and as many people as possible to read our draft Young Carer Strategy and complete the survey to give their views. If you have any queries please contact the Carers Strategy Team via email on: Carersupport@aberdeenshire.gov.uk

There are at least 44,000 young carers in Scotland, and caring at a young age can have an impact on young carers' own education, welfare & health. Young carers' services in Scotland provide a huge amount of support to young people & provide the chance for a break from caring.
