Today I took some advice of my own that I pass on to patients and I stepped away for some reflection, relaxation and recuperation.

So lucky to live in such a beautiful place so I utilised it to the max.

Following guidance from our professional body it is recommended that both osteopath and patient CONTINUE to wear face masks during their osteopathy appointments (despite government changes from 19th of July onwards) 💀 this is for the safety of both our patients and for ourselves as practitioners. 💀 The government guidance for mask wearing is not a legal requirement in the UK in public spaces, however in healthcare settings it is strongly recommended and encouraged due to the close contact nature of the appointments. 💀Jigsaw health will be following this guidance and kindly ask you to do the same. Today is World Down Syndrome Day. It is the 21st day of the 3rd month, which was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which is how Down syndrome occurs.

So today I’m wearing my colourful odd socks to raise awareness. The idea was originally created because chromosomes are shaped “like socks” and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome.
