it’s international yoga day 🌿

honestly, yoga has changed so much for me — physically, mentally, emotionally. it’s helped me slow down, stay strong, and feel more at home in myself.

at the same time, i’ve been learning more about where this day came from, and how it was introduced by political figures in india. like many things, it’s complicated. but yoga itself is deep, ancient, and belongs to no one and everyone.

so i’m choosing to mark today with gratitude — for the practice, for the teachers who’ve shared it, and for the way yoga keeps opening new doors for healing, connection and trust.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is happening now across the UK (12–18 May), led by the Mental Health Foundation.

This year’s theme is “Community”, and it really resonates. A sense of connection, belonging, and support can make such a difference to our mental wellbeing.

One of my biggest motivations for offering yoga and wellbeing events is to create spaces where people feel welcome and supported. I know that for many of us (me included!), it’s not always the yoga that gets us through the door — it’s the community. The smiles, the chats, the knowing you’re not alone.

I thought menopause was something for my 50s — not my 30s. I didn’t even know perimenopause existed. So when my anxiety, low mood, and sudden rage appeared (without a single hot flush in sight), I felt completely lost. Turns out, perimenopause can start in your late 30s and last up to 10 years 🥴. And it’s not just about changing periods or poor sleep — it can change how you feel in ways you never expected.

The earlier we understand what’s happening in our bodies, the sooner we can take small steps to ease symptoms and feel better. You don’t have to suffer in silence. With the right support, you can feel strong, joyful, and yourself again.

🌿 It’s Never Too Late to Start Taking Care of Yourself 🌿

Life can feel overwhelming—the constant achieving, giving, learning, and squeezing out every last drop of energy. Sometimes, it feels like there’s nothing left for you.

✨ But to find ease, you need balance. ✨

Where to begin? Start with what you love and combine it with what you need. Maybe you thrive on a physical challenge but could do with the quiet of meditation. Or you love the idea of relaxation yet could use a gentle push.

In my yoga classes, you’re invited to bring all parts of yourself—the strong and the vulnerable, the confident and the hidden. Together, we’ll use ancient yoga practices to embrace every part of you, moving towards the peace and calm you truly deserve.

Take time for yourself to recharge, reset and rejuvenate with Yoga, Cacao sacred circle, Mantra and meditation.

Join Abi and Cris for a lovely Sunday afternoon of movement, bliss and connection as you get ready for winter and the busy festive season.

What is included:

🧘‍♂️ Gentle Yoga Flow (this is an all levels class combining standing, seated, lying down poses and a lovely relaxation)

☕️ Cacao Sacred Circle (expect to enjoy a hot cacao drink prepared with much love and a circle where you’ll be invited to journey inwards through meditation and sitting in community)

🎶 Mantras - kirtan style (listen to the sounds of mantras and/or chant together and feel the power of vibration and unity)

🥐 ☕️A snack/treat box with a hot drink of your choice (coffee/tea)

A journey within through Yoga and ancient chants.

Join me for a special evening of Yoga and kirtan.

We will enjoy a 1.15h Yoga flow class followed by a lovely kirtan where we will chant mantras together to the sound of the harmonium.

Why we chant, you ask?
To uplift the spirit, to fill our hearts with peace and love, to connect with our community. To remind ourselves that deep down we are not alone.

6.30 - 7.45pm Yoga Flow all levels
7.45 - 8pm Tea and chat
8 - 9pm Sacred Sound Kirtan (bhakti Yoga)
