We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Hetherington as Technical Area Sales Manager for Scotland.

With over 20 years’ experience in sports turf management, Jack has developed high-quality playing surfaces and implemented effective turf programmes at golf clubs across the North East of England. He has also been an active contributor to the wider greenkeeping community through BIGGA, including serving as Founding Chairman of the Young Greenkeepers Committee and Northern Region Director.

In his new role, Jack will support turf managers and distributors across Scotland with expert advice and tailored turf management solutions.

Persistent rain, cold soils and long hours of leaf wetness are all part of winter at Chester-Le-Street Golf Club.

“Improving the movement of water through the surface is essential in maximising the window in which we can operate to produce the best surfaces,” says Course Manager Jack Hetherington.

To support that, Jack applies H2Pro FlowSmart monthly in a tank-mix with Effect Iron as part of his ITM programme.

“The moment it really stood out was after a rain event,” he says. “The next day you could walk onto the green, no dew, felt firmer underfoot, and performing better than the day before. It transformed how the greens performed throughout the autumn/winter period.”
