On Friday we welcomed PC 459 ELL to the café for the Suffolk Constabulary Official Page Police Surgery!

We’re so proud to share this lovely snap of our brilliant trainee Flo alongside PC 459 ELL.

Our café is more than just a place to grab a coffee - it’s a true community hub. We’re here to create a space that’s warm, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone in our community.

PC 459 ELL will be back with us on 7th April for the next Police Surgery session, so make sure to pop the date in your diary and come down to see us. Whether it’s for a chat, support, or just a cuppa, we’d love to see you! ☕✨

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than a visit to 21 Young Hearts Cafe
and meeting Kyle who is at the heart of the story behind this new social enterprise.

Jenni and Matt from Harwich Haven Authority Community Fund joined us for coffee and cake at 21 Young Hearts last week. 21 Young Hearts’ mission is to encourage, empower, and support young people with disabilities into the workforce by providing meaningful employment and volunteering opportunities. The model is centered around the creation of a community café in Martlesham Heath, which is open seven days a week offering light refreshments while serving as a training and employment hub for young people with disabilities.

Harwich Haven Authority supported 21 Young Hearts through its Community Fund last year. Jenni said “It really was fantastic to see what a huge difference they are making to their trainees and the wider community.”

Thank you to the team at 21 Young Hearts for their hospitality and to Kyle for his excellent customer service and warm welcome! 💜

The Harwich Haven Authority Fund is now open for applications. Please visit https://www.suffolkcf.org.uk/grants/harwich-haven-authority-fund/ for more information and how to apply.

Twenty-four years ago, Stuart and Sharon Hobbs welcomed their son Kyle into the world and began a journey they never expected - one that would lead them to found 21 Young Hearts.

In 2025, they proudly opened the 21 Young Hearts Café in Suffolk, creating employment opportunities for people living with disabilities and building a truly inclusive community hub.

Now, their nephew Cameron is taking on the Brighton Marathon to raise funds to help transform the website into an accessible online resource for families who need support.

Every donation will help to enable 21 Young Hearts mission come to life ❤️💙
