George trained to run it. Now he’s determined to finish it, no matter what!💙

George Chilvers has been putting in the miles ahead of the London Marathon, inspired by his dad’s cancer journey and the care their family has received.

But recently, things changed! Unpredictable just like a cancer journey. After picking up an injury, George has had to reset his expectations. Race day now looks like a mix of jogging, walking… and sheer determination to make it to the finish line.

Because this was never just about a time on the clock.

In true George style and inspired by his three-year-old daughter, he’ll now be taking on all 26.2 miles dressed as Elsa from Frozen ❄️

It’s a challenge powered by love, resilience and a refusal to give up, even when things don’t go to plan.

If you can, please support George as he takes on the London Marathon to support patients when they need it most💙

💙KC is putting her fears to one side as she takes on a skydive on 7th May, aiming to raise £1,000 in support of the Woolverstone Day Unit ✨

KC shares: “My Grandad is currently receiving palliative chemotherapy at the Woolverstone and Oncology Day Unit after being diagnosed with cancer in April 2025, news that completely changed our lives.

"He is my true hero. Even on the hardest days, he refuses to let anything dull his sparkle. He faces everything with courage, humour and determination.

"The staff have been nothing short of incredible. Their kindness and compassion support not just my Grandad, but every patient who walks through their doors.

"I’m raising money to help the unit continue to grow, so more patients can receive care in a calm, supportive and dignified environment. Every donation, big or small, means the world to me and my family. Thank you for your support 💙KC x”

Please support Kaci Munnings if you can and help us continue being there for patients and families when they need us most.

💙Welcome additions to the Radiotherapy department

Ipswich Hospital’s Radiotherapy team were delighted to open their newly redesigned reception area, a space created with comfort, dignity and calm at its heart.

This improved environment reflects their commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive experience for every patient who walks through their doors.

As part of this enhancement, supported by Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, the team are also pleased to introduce a new tea bar, offering complimentary refreshments for patients and their loved ones while they wait for treatment.

“We hope this small but meaningful addition helps make each visit a little easier and a little brighter.”

🌈Our Colour Run is returning this September to Christchurch Park!

Brighter, bolder and more colourful than ever before. And we’re inviting local businesses to be part of it🤩

We’re looking for corporate sponsors to host our colour powder stations, the heart of the event, where the magic (and mess!) happens🎨

By sponsoring a station, your business will:
✨ Brand your own colour zone
✨ Get hands-on with your staff joining our hospital volunteers on the day
✨ Be part of a high-energy, feel-good community event
✨ Gain visible brand presence among hundreds of participants and supporters

This is your chance to bring the colour, energise your team, and show your support for local NHS patients, families and staff.

It makes a real difference!

Ready to get involved?
Gavin, our corporate and events manager would love to hear from you! Email charity@esneft.nhs.uk to secure your colour station (spaces are limited).

Let’s make this year’s Colour Run our most vibrant yet 💙💚💜🩷
