Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity is committed to helping East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust provide a quality health community for you and your loved ones - today and into the future. At Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, we aim to help provide you, your friends, your family and neighbours the highest quality, safe, and compassionate care. Through the support of our donors, we
• purchase patient comforts, such as equipment, toys and books;
• fund improvements to the hospital environment to make it more welcoming to patients;
• provide facilities for patient family members, such as a parent room on the Neonatal Unit;
• fund state-of-the-art equipment;
• contribute to clinical research;
• help staff to keep their skills and knowledge up to date; and
• support staff welfare.

A huge thank you to members of the Mersea Island Lodge No. 5534 Essex Freemasons who took on our Hospital Hero Hike this October.

After tackling many fields, stiles and strong winds, this wonderful team managed to complete the 21-mile walk in just eight hours, raising an incredible £1,000 for our Charity.

This generous donation will go towards providing essential medical equipment and services that go beyond what the NHS can provide.

Congratulations to Gail!

After an incredibly brave journey through ovarian cancer treatment, Gail set herself a triple fundraising challenge and she’s absolutely smashed her target, raising an amazing £2,092 for our hospitals! 💪💙

From the Welsh 3000s, to the Ipswich Half Marathon, and finally the Hero Hike from Colchester to Ipswich, Gail’s determination, resilience, and positivity have been truly inspiring.

After months of determination, Michael finally took to the skies and completed his Wing Walk challenge this summer, determined not to give up, showing incredible bravery, commitment, and community spirit. ✈️💪

“The wing walk was an amazing experience and different to anything I have done before,” said Michael.

Thanks to his amazing effort, he’s raised over £1,040 for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, specifically our Cancer Wellbeing Fund. An outstanding achievement that will help support those diagnosed with cancer, undergoing treatment or living with and beyond cancer 💙

👏 A big congratulations to Carl and the entire team!

Once again, this amazing team completed their 56-mile walk from Cambridge to Ipswich Hospital over 6 and 7 June. An incredible show of determination and team spirit 💪🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

We know this journey was no easy feat, so our heartfelt congratulations go to everyone who took part and to those who completed the full challenge! 🌟

A special shout-out to Carry, who did a fantastic job coordinating the team and securing brilliant raffle prizes. 🎟️

Together, they raised an incredible £4,200 in support of cancer services at Ipswich Hospital, a cause so close to their hearts 💙

💙 A heartfelt thank you to Penny Jenkins for her kind and continued support of the Neonatal Unit at Ipswich Hospital.

Penny recently visited the unit, where she met with Abi Cracknell and generously donated £500 in memory of her grandson, Raif, who was born on 26th August and would have celebrated his 18th birthday this year.

Raif is deeply loved and missed, and Penny’s ongoing support helps us continue enhancing patient care and be there when they need us most 💙
