I studied Reflexology for one year and gained a Level 4 diploma and completed my training with Stonebridge College. My Reflexology treatments will be given in the comfort of my home in a warm, relaxing and therapeutic treatment room. Reflexology is known to be more than four thousand years old. Paintings were discovered showing a Reflexology treatment in practice in about 2300BC. The Chinese were known to have used the practice of Reflexology in the earlier years in conjunction with Acupuncture. There is no way of tracing the true beginnings of Reflexology however both the Egyptians and the Chinese shared the same belief of the use of this treatment. Refloxology is a special massage working on the confines of the feet. The soles, tops and sides of the feet are massaged to bring a beneficial balancing response in other parts of the body. The body's internal organs, systems, structures and glands are represented in the feet and by working specific pressure points, any imbalances can be detected and treated to restore harmony and balance. Reflexology is believed to give the body the ingredients it needs to help kick start the body's own healing process and encourage physical and mental health. The treatment is particularly good for relieving stress related conditions as the treatment itself is extremely relaxing. Reflexology can be very beneficial when used on a regular basis. It can help maintain well-being and other factors including; boosting energy levels, stimulation of the circulatory system, soothing the nervous system, relieving insomnia, balancing out digestive disorders and hormonal relief such as menstrual disorders.
