We’re taking an important step towards improving how we assess and rate health and social care providers by moving to a sector-based approach to regulation.

Feedback from our consultation at the end of last year showed overwhelming support for our proposal to move away from a single assessment framework to separate frameworks that are more specific and relevant to the health and care sectors that we regulate.

We have therefore developed an initial 4 draft assessment frameworks for:
• Adult social care
• Mental health care
• Primary care and community services
• Hospitals (secondary and specialist care)

These draft frameworks give clearer, more transparent and consistent judgements about quality across sectors.

We’re now inviting feedback from colleagues, providers, people who use services, and other partners. https://orlo.uk/UJFBP

Support cancer research 📢

Dr Priya Joshi is leading a study exploring how people access cancer information in today’s digital world - looking at the impact of social media, misinformation, and whether current UK legislation is still fit for purpose.

She’s seeking participants for a 20–30 minute anonymous survey, including:

• People treated for cancer in the last 3 years (or loved ones) – https://wbs.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_09F4M9uqfjsX3tI

• Healthcare professionals – https://wbs.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6hYhlK8ZxsGYsFE

• Third sector or private healthcare managers – https://wbs.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7OGoal6Fkt3rxjM

The research aims to better understand barriers to reliable cancer information and improve access to trusted advice.

Please consider taking part or sharing within your networks to support this important work.
