Help Shape Community Health in Suffolk. Our Future: 2027 - 2037

Suffolk and North East Essex NHS Integrated Care Board is seeking the views of people in Suffolk on the way NHS community services are delivered over the next decade!

This engagement opportunity has been co-produced by a team representing 45+ community groups and organisations in Suffolk.

We are asking one question:

☑️ What has worked well in NHS community services for you, and what would make them better?

These services represent around £100 million of investment each year for Suffolk, excluding Waveney, and play a vital role in linking GPs, hospitals and social care.

Celebrating 20 Years of Care Development East

Today, 9th February 2026, marks 20 years since our journey began. Founded on 9th February 2006 as Suffolk Brokerage, we have grown into Care Development East, proud to support, guide, and develop the social care and health workforce across the East of England.

“I’ve been proud to be part of Care Development East for 13 years and to have played a role in everything we’ve achieved during that time. Our driving passion is to ensure the very best care is provided—when, where, and however it is needed. We’re committed to supporting the sector by championing it as a career of choice, investing in training and development, creating strong networks, and delivering marketplace events and award ceremonies that celebrate excellence and best practice across care.” Christine Laverock, Chair of Care Development East

“It is a privilege to lead an organisation that supports a sector I have dedicated 29 years to and am truly passionate about. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting excellence across social care." Gemma Bloomfield, Chief Executive, Care Development East

Our mission has always been clear:

Care Development East is dedicated to promoting excellence across the social care and health workforce in the East of England. We provide impartial advice, support, guidance, and information to the sector operating as an independent, non-profit making organisation. We work with a range of organisations and partners to deliver a high-quality service, develop new initiatives, improve access to training, and promote rewarding careers in care.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work, and a huge thank you to all social care workers—your dedication makes a real difference every day.💙
