Allow yourself the opportunity to be successful.
Stop doing the things that hold you back.

Years ago I posted this photo, likening wearing stiff shoes while walking around to binding our hands before typing. Re-sharing it now because April is National Foot Health Awareness month and the visual is still impactful.

Last week I was on the radio and they asked me why I have written two books on feet. My answer went something like this:

1) Most movements we need and want to do with our body—not only for exercise but just activities of daily living—pass through our feet. Our feet bear the weight of our entire body whenever we go to move.

2) We've got a major foot pain/poor foot health problem. Data varies but adult foot pain prevalence is close to 1 in 4 (more in older adult women, fewer in men, both groups show increases in foot pain with age) and foot issues are a risk factor for locomotion disabilities, poor balance and falling, loss of agency/independency and quality of life.

3) We rarely exercise our feet; instead we use external foot support (SHOES, MAN) which can only get us so far (and by “far” I mean both in terms of accumulated distance and accumulated age). Our most often loaded body part is the least conditioned.

SO, I’ve written books to give people information about simple ways they can control where they are placing their weight upon the foot as well as how to strengthen their feet to better withstand load. This is to reduce pain (hooray) but also so they can get more movement. GET IT???

April is so both my new audiobook 'Simple Steps to Foot Pain Relief' and the award-winning 'Whole Body Barefoot' audiobook are 25% off through the end of the month on my website: nutritiousmovement.com/audiobooks

**PERSONAL TRAINING- NEW CLIENT AVAILABILITY**
I've had two regular weekly PT slots open up as my existing clients are moving out of the area.
If you are looking for regular PT sessions this is your opportunity.
Sessions are held in our private fitness studio in Chelsworth and we have a wide range of exercise modalities on offer. Sessions are priced at £45 for an hour, at a time convenient to you.
Your current fitness level is less important than you desire to make exercise a regular part of your week; I hope to see you soon.

It’s so tempting to believe that calories are what make you fat...so you can eat whatever you want as long as it doesn’t have calories. 🤦‍♂️

Having lost 100 pounds and kept it off for more than ten years and having written five books on nutrition, here is the simplest “complex” advice I can share:

- 90% of your fat is controlled by food, not exercise
- Don’t eat seed oils
- Meat should be grass-fed/pastured/wild or not eaten at all
- You need meat
- When and what you eat matters more than calories
- Be in ketosis sometimes but not always
- Intermittent fast sometimes but not always
- Don’t eat after the sun goes down
- Most plants want to kill you, so only eat the ones that work for your biology
- Toxins from plants, from mother nature, and from chemicals will change your weight
- You need supplements to overcome low-quality foods and high toxic levels in the environment

Sorry, that list is long—it’s a summary of 20+ years of research, almost 1000 podcasts, and my own experience losing weight.

What else belongs on it?👇

The FDA has also approved margarine, corn syrup, and artificial colorings and flavors that mess with your brain and likely cause cancer. Their approval should not make you feel confident in anything.

Lab-grown meat is bad for animals, bad for the planet, and bad for you.

One of the many problems with lab-grown meat is glyphosate contamination from the feedstocks used. Another issue is pollution from all of the plastic and sterilization equipment used. And the major drawback is that all of the parts of an animal are necessary for you to be healthy from the nose to the tail. Collagen protein and organ meats are missing from lab-grown meat, and they're the most nutritious parts of the animal.

Have you ever heard of lab-grown liver or lab-grown bone marrow? Neither have I.

Let's grow healthy soil by supporting small-scale grass-fed local farmers. This is the only way to fix our soil and continue to have vibrant health.
