At this week in class we’ve been unwrapping the stages of getting into Pincha Mayurasana.
- working the cat position like crazy to maintain the separation at the shoulder blades and accessing the serratus anterior
- maintaining the crazy cat into the forearm position with a block between the hands to keep the alignment and prevent the upper traps taking over. Drishti is now the thumbs.
- stillllll keeping the cat and beginning to get the prep position of a forearm down dog - some people just stop here and work this
- if the above is ok then we’ve been walking the feet in, with the aim of keeping the height in the hips and deffo keeping the cat work
- maintain all of the above and working along through the inner thigh out to big toe to lift (not kick) the first leg
- keep the cat in the upper body and the first leg then allows the second leg to float up into the magical peacock (I’m hanging out a bit too much in the lower back on this one 🙄)🦚
