Thursday night is YogaMan; are you a creaky man, maybe sit at a desk a lot, maybe do loads of running, maybe you’re just feeling like your body needs a bit of care and gentle stretching….then come along to YogaMan. It’s all about mobility, not crazy postures, and I’ll wrap you up in a blanket at the end and put a bolster under your knees so you can have a lovely little rest. So good for your mental health too. Class is from 7:35pm for an hour. Let me know if you’ve got any queries 🙏🏽

The abandonment of Savasana after the asana practice. Everyone was scattered around the room as we’d being working Urdhva Dhanurasana against the wall with blocks. Even managed to get .indie into class with the lure of backbends!

thank you so much for having us back again in the warmth of your beautiful healing field. It’s an absolute privilege to teach again, I love that the yoga is free and everyone just comes and gives all their energy.

We played with lots of postures, did some partner work and made new friends during class!

Please check out The Zen Project and all their amazing work championing young people’s mental health.

At this week in class we’ve been unwrapping the stages of getting into Pincha Mayurasana.

1 - working the cat position like crazy to maintain the separation at the shoulder blades and accessing the serratus anterior

2 - maintaining the crazy cat into the forearm position with a block between the hands to keep the alignment and prevent the upper traps taking over. Drishti is now the thumbs.

3 - stillllll keeping the cat and beginning to get the prep position of a forearm down dog - some people just stop here and work this

4 - if the above is ok then we’ve been walking the feet in, with the aim of keeping the height in the hips and deffo keeping the cat work

5 - maintain all of the above and working along through the inner thigh out to big toe to lift (not kick) the first leg

6 - keep the cat in the upper body and the first leg then allows the second leg to float up into the magical peacock (I’m hanging out a bit too much in the lower back on this one 🙄)🦚
