⭐Meet the Team Monday⭐
We’re thrilled to announce that Kirsty, a familiar and much-loved member of our team, is now Deputy Manager here at Bucklesham Grange!
What does the role of Deputy Manager entail?
The role of deputy manager is vast and ranges from supporting and leading the care team to deliver outstanding care, reviewing documentation, liaising with external healthcare professionals and support the whole home in the absence of the General Manager.
What does a usual day look like for you?
Every day is different, it could be managing the rota, spending time with the team, residents and relatives, quality checking documentation.
How and why did you start working in the care industry?
It started working in the care industry after studying Psychology and university. I got a part time job in a care home, loved it and never looked back.
How do you work with the General Manager and why is this relationship so important?
Ruben and I have a 29 years’ experience with Hallmark between us, we love the company and its vision, however we are also quite different and that’s going to be our strength going forward. Ruben has a huge amount of experience including as Deputy Manager so I am learning a lot from him.
What is the best thing about being the Deputy Manager?
The best thing about being Deputy Manager is being able to spend time with all residents and support across all department as well as the clinical care.
Can you think of a personal highlight in your role?
I personal highlight will of course be out recent internal compliance audit score- we achieved outstanding and that is a tribute to the hard work across all teams. I am also grateful for the support I have received from relatives, team and residents since becoming the Deputy Manager, it means a lot.
How do you spend your free time?
Spare time? I don’t really have any! I have two boys, one 7 year old and one 4-year-old who have the most amazing personalities, and I love spending time with them. I am also studying for a post graduate degree, so I like to read journals and research, I suppose when I do have a moment, I like a game of scrabble!
