I used to think relaxing meant sitting in front of the TV and zoning out for a bit…but I'd never feel resourced afterwards and my mind would still be racing.
It’s something I so often with clients too, even when the body is still, the mind just keeps going.
And then something shifts during Reiki...
The breathing slows
The body softens
And for the first time in a while, the mind goes quiet.
One client said to me recently:
“This is the only place I actually relax.”
And that stayed with me.
Because sometimes it’s not that we don’t want to relax,
it’s that we don’t always have a space where we feel safe enough to truly let go, to stop and just be for a moment.
That’s what I try to create in every session.
