Today is Shrove Tuesday or as most people know it....Pancake Day πŸ₯žπŸ₯ž So Happy Pancake Day everybody 😁πŸ₯žπŸ’™πŸ§‘
Pancakes take only minutes to prepare and can be a great, healthy way to start your day, especially when made with protein! 😲😁. It is well documented that people who include protein at breakfast have better appetite control throughout the day and finishing your day with protein and good fats, help supply your body with the nutrients it needs to repair and grow while you sleep πŸ’ͺ......a win win for the protein pancake! πŸ₯žπŸ˜‹.πŸ’™πŸ§‘
So not only are they a great way to start your day, they are also a great way to finish your day πŸ˜Šβ€¦ oh they’re also a great, quick, healthy snack for when the kids get home school today....or any day! πŸ˜‹πŸ’™πŸ§‘
Here’s a simple recipe for healthy Protein Pancakes without added sugars or refined grains, with a Gluten Free option πŸ₯žπŸ˜‹πŸ˜€
For Gluten Free, use GF oats
Recipe (makes 4 pancakes)
Ingredients
40g Whey protein powder (your choice of flavour)
100ml Milk (your choice of milk, we use Almond)
1 large free-range egg
50g Organic porridge oats
1 tsp cinnamon
ΒΌ tsp baking powder
1 tsp Coconut oil
100g Greek yogurt
50g Blueberries
Method
1 Add the oats to a blender and blitz until it resembles a fine flour. Add the protein powder, baking powder, egg, milk and cinnamon to the blender too and blitz everything until you have a texture like pancake batter.
2 Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add enough oil to lightly grease the pan, approximately 1 tsp. to start (you will add more as needed for more pancakes).
3. Once the oil is hot, pour 1/4 of the pancake mixture into the centre of the pan. Tilt the pan in a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
4 . Allow to cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to harden and a spatula can easily slide underneath the pancake.
Flip over and cook an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the batter is cooked through.
Repeat with remaining pancakes.
For an extra hit of protein, Fibre, Antioxidants, and enjoyment πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‹, serve with some more 'Gut Healthy' plain Greek yogurt and fresh berries of your choice πŸ₯žπŸ«πŸ“πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Don't worry because here's a great little workout you can do anytime and anywhere, at home, the office, hotel room, wherever you find yourself today, and all you need is 20mins and a skipping rope…possibly πŸ˜ƒ
The Workout πŸ₯΅
Skipping x 60secs
Squats x 10
Press ups x 10 (or as many as you can up to 10)
Repeat x 10
Try and keep the workout continuous for the 10 rounds or use minimal rest when needed πŸ₯΅πŸ˜ƒ
Skipping on its own is a fantastic way to improve / maintain your health and fitness no matter what age, size, or fitness level you are, but combine it with a few squats and press ups and you have a full body HIIT & strength workout πŸ’ͺ
No skipping rope? πŸ˜¬β€¦no problem, just substitute the skipping for 60secs of running on the spot or high knees πŸ˜ƒ

"my friend is on a shake diet, perhaps I should try that " ..."on the other hand should I be a Vegan?, I think there was a documentary on that!", β€œor maybe I should eat Carnivore”, "what about Carbs ???" ".....and what about supplements?" ....."also what type of exercise should I be doing to burn fat, HIIT? or LISS? and what about strength and flexibility etc, what’s best, Weights? Cross Fit? Or Yoga?”
OMG we're not surprised you're confused, who wouldn't be with all this conflicting and somewhat confusing information saturating Social media, and all of it backed by self proclaimed "experts" and their somewhat 'cherry picked' "evidence"
