During National Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week, we recognise Week, a time to come together, listen to every voice, and stand united in preventing and responding to sexual abuse and sexual violence. It’s also a powerful reminder that no one should ever have to face these experiences alone.

Our Sexual Assault Service, Iris Suffolk , alongside other local services across Suffolk, has come together to make a shared promise: no one affected by sexual violence will be turned away or left without support. Their commitment is to ensure that help is available whenever someone reaches out.

Iris is proud to join Suffolk partners in committing to the No Wrong Door Pledge. Watch the video to see this commitment in action.

This week is Kidney Cancer Awareness Week.

Kidney cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the UK, yet many people are diagnosed late because symptoms can be subtle, mistaken, or ignored. If something doesn’t feel right, always talk to your GP. Know the sign!

As part of January’s Cervical Cancer Prevention week, today we hosted a lunch & learn Cervical Cancer Prevention session 'Very Important Invitation' with Maddy Dunningham, Cervical Screening Lead Nurse at Suffolk GP Federation.

Inviting colleagues from across our services and central support teams - women & men - the session gave our colleagues the chance to learn, ask important questions, and take part in open conversations about cervical health. Focusing on;
🩷 Raising awareness of cervical screening
🩷 Understanding the HPV vaccine
🩷 Prevention and early detection
🩷 Exploring reasonable adjustments to help make screening more accessible

Committed to supporting the wellbeing of our colleagues and providing access to information and resources that empower people to make informed choices about their health, thank you to everyone who joined us for todays session.

And thank you to Maddy & Suffolk GP Federation for running the session for us! 😊

Urgent Health UK are asking for your help!

UHUK are a partnership of mission-driven social enterprise providers, who are committed to making the experience of waiting for urgent care clearer, calmer and more supportive for patients.

Waiting for an update, GP Home Visit or a clinical assessment can feel stressful. We want to understand what information helps, when it’s most needed, and how technology could be used better to keep people informed and reassured while they wait.

That’s where you come in.

UKUH are asking patients and members of the public to share their experiences and ideas. You don’t need technical knowledge — just your honest view of what would make a difference. It will only take 2 minutes and could help make a big difference.

📝 Share your feedback here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/PTComfortCall/
📅 Closes: Midnight, 30 January 2026

Please feel free to share this with friends, family and local networks — especially anyone who has needed urgent care advice or support.
