So some honesty about being barefoot and perhaps controversial take, maybe???Basically, 1) I walk about barefoot cos I’m a lazy bastard; I get my s**t together and walk out the door and just don’t consider putting my shoes on cos I don’t have to and I’m just to lazy to bend down and put them on. There is said it. Im a lazy c**t. 2) the longer I’ve been mooching about barefoot (since around 2011/2012) the more the words of and chris sritharan from my first AiM course back in 2018 ring in my ears that I won’t be doing it long term, it won’t actually do me good. Well after years of running long distances barefoot, extolling the virtues of it on everyone, just cos I do it, and the discovering through that actually my feet are just hyposenstive (very un sensitive) and that is WHY I am able to do it.I’m now happy to admit that really, I wasn’t right about it. It can feel fu***ng wonderful mooching about in grass and in fields without shoes and can potentially offer benefits but the majority of the time life is lived on hard concrete, stoney, flat ground which our nervous system just doesn’t actually like. There is a reason changed his mind after running with the Tarahumara tribe. They are some of the best runners in the world and still they run with a form of shoe as this allows their nervous system to not spend its whole time s**tting the bed worrying about what’s coming and instead on where it wants to go. The whole conversation around barefoot shoes is a very loaded one these days. I prefer a shoe that doesn’t pinch my feet which is why I prefer a wider toe box but I spent all last year in skate shoes and had zero problems. Brands like vivo are fu***ng crazy expensive for something that I’m not totally convinced really changes a huge amount. Focusing on doing some work through the foot is far more important/beneficial. The research shows around a 60% improvement in strength of the foot but in the same way that hip thrusting huge weights improves glute strength, that doesn’t necessarily change the ability of the body area to work in gait (its also completed in collaboration with vivo so there’s that 🤷‍♂️🤣)

Done it, 1000 press ups in 1 day

What started as a 100 press ups a day challenge in November moved on to doing 200 a day for December and then thinking that after told me what his routine was that I should try and build to 1000 by the end of the year.

So hear it is. Was tough towards the end, and I think il focus on doing 400-500 a day for a while longer but at least I managed it.

Now constant working on my pulling game 🤣🤣🤣.

online course now open to get booked into

I’m so so happy and very greatful to have Robbie Man join me this week on to discuss her new course that she’s kindly asked me to help teach on.

As Robbie states in this clip, she was close to su***de in the past and the love of a dog did something to her, which not only meant she stayed alive, but it started a journey into how and what that love did to her physiology.

Since then she has been and studied with all the greats (in my eyes) to name just a few Tory and understand what it was that was happening inside her when her pit bull wouldn’t let her be alone whilst crying.

There is some heavy stuff in this episode but it’s also so important and it really highlights how important love and connection are to us as humans.

The course is now live and you can get booked on for 7 months of incredible learning with myself, and . You will learn about moving, breathing, Nutritian and everything in and around the human body. How lymph can affect your health and wellness, the magic of water, hormones and so much more

This course is about finding your way through fu***ng up but keeping going to find that middle way. Expect nuance galore. Expect a personal journey that looks at YOU by YOU!

If you want 20% off head to website whatsyourwaffle.com and use the code magic20.

I can’t wait to be part of this incredible course and I cannot tell you how much it means to me that Robbie asked me to help out despite and because of all my f**k ups.

Today I received an unbelievable testimonial from a client I was working with back in suffolk last year, he is an incredible mover and blows my mind with his slack line, climbing and Acro skills.

He had found a whole bunch of benefits from the work but then kinda found that having let the exercises slip had some aches slip back in, so went back into the drills this week and immediately found the aches vanish again.

He then gave me the best testimonial in the form of a poem, which really does kinda sum up what I do. So here’s what he kindly wrote

“Wibbs knows some magic, it’s hard to describe.
He’s in tune with that energy, that keeps us alive
I’ve struggled with injuries, I push myself a lot
To find my limits is a still I’ve still got.
When broken I’ve spent money in lots of directions
Osteopathy and physios. Tried massages and chiropractors corrections
The money best spent has gone to Wibbs reflections.
He understands, how to build back alinement
With professional level of refinement.
He genuinely cares, it’s a trait that’s to rare.
There’s prof, he’s a nurse, not just kind but aware.
What will happen, he will analyse from your start.
Ask your history in detail, this to me is like art.
To know and refine from beginning to now.
To build up one knowledge of movement and how.
Starts the process of helping you live without pain and restrictions.
Something I had as a chronic condition
Truth is he can’t realistically fix it for you.
But he can open the door for you to walk through.
Walking, what a magic way to fix all those niggles we can miss.
Starts from the ground, how we stand and how we stroll
To up this efficiency, can lead to ultimate control.
Want to go deeper, he can help more.
With understanding and compassion he’s been there before
As a real human he’s also struggled to feel the floor.
Alinement with the ground, can help you fix your s**t.
Let him point you in the right direction. It’s definitely legit.”

Just look how incredible those pictures are!!!!

Movement fu***ng matters

We have surrendered our movements to machines so much these days. I mentioned this in a post the other day about my washing but I have been thinking about it so much of late.

How much have you given over your own movement to someone or something else? I am not just talking about cars and walking less, I am talking about being in the kitchen and not stoning your own olives, shelling your own nuts, whisking your own eggs etc.

We are so keen to only really look at exercise as a legitimate form of “burning calories” or being healthy but this is bulls**t. It’s a modern idea and as from mentions in a podcast I did with him, is just a hack.

It’s our way to try to make up for being sooooo separate from the world, from nature and the obstacles and challenges that brings up.

I’ve been super lucky to get to talk to Katy bowman for my podcast in the past. She wrote a book of essays called movement matters and to me it’s such an incredibly important thesis on the ways in which we are missing out and losing out.

So further to my previous post about waking to the shops and or the laundrette, why not try to make little changes, like using a hand screwdriver rather than a drill when you don’t need to, why not by unshelled nuts and do it your self.

So again, stop being a lazy c**t and just begin to remember that all the comforts we afford ourselves comes at a cost. Get tired physically, get wet, get cold, get hot, get sweaty, get outside and pick things up, walk more and get INTO nature as this will get you INTO YOU.

You are a part of nature, you are in nature and movement is how we experience this incredible thing called life.

Evening run after a full week of being on a computer hating every second assessing people for PIP but then a day being on the computer loving every second learning about brain development and infant development reflexes along with and

But still I had to get out, so I took myself off of a little stroll around the villages, the aim was to do 10km but ended up at 14 which was nice.

Since I ran Hadrians wall last year my running has been shut but im starting to find some consistency and getting out 1-2 days a week the last few weeks and it’s starting to add up already.

14 km all nasal breathing bar the odd sigh and keeping my heart rate up in the 160-170’s in the process.

Finding some techniques taught by very helpful when I was finding myself dragging a bit which automatically picked me up…such as thinking about running from my pelvis to help keep me vertical which helps to delay hip extension by microseconds and allows more loading to effortless snap that leg back under me.

Don’t forget to go by you or your man (or woman) one of these awesome novea base layers, I love it and find it the best to run in. Use code wibbs15 for 15% off at the check out.

Also shout out to .david.jackson and for the inspiration to be getting out more recently.

I am very fortunate that clients trust me enough to put their health in my hands.

A recent review from a client who has struggled with chronic pain throughout her whole body for 35 years having been diagnosed with as a teenager.

She decided to come off all her medications a couple of years back and step away from the allopathic “healthcare” model and try to get herself healthy and moving better.

Having first worked to allow her nervous system to feel safe by exploring some of her motor patterns via her Moro “reflex” (known as part of the infant development reflexes) we were then gifted with the opportunity to allow her body to move and breathe.

For someone who came to me unable to breathe deeply with a rigid thoracic spine that wouldn’t flex or extend and had a (her tolerance of CO2 or perhaps a way for her ability to deal with some aspects of stress) of 7 seconds, within 3 sessions her ability to tolerate holding her breath had risen to 32 seconds.

That’s the wonder of the nervous system, it isn’t always as some papers in science say that co2 tolerance is the key to triggering panics/anxiety, sometimes the nervous system as a whole needs to just be stepped back from the fight/flight and actually breathing exercises won’t cut it.

Taking hip pain, shoulder pain, the inability to lay flat without pain, constant anxiety and trouble going out and enjoying yourself could all be down to, as the wonderful would say, missing pieces of Lego.

When we can work with the missing motor patterns and reintegrate them into the body, it allows all sorts of freedom that no amount of physio, rehab, exercise, weights, stretching, yoga etc etc etc will help with.

If you are interested in learning more drop me a comment saying MOVE and we can sort you out.
