Citrus Training

Citrus Training The Citrus Group is the UK's leading provider of safety training and NVQ assessments. Over time, Citrus has learned what works and what does not.

The Citrus Group has become the UK's leading provider of safety training and NVQ assessments. This year we will train or assess over 25,000 delegates in over 200 course subjects or nationally recognised qualifications. Our refreshing and innovative approach to health and safety training is widely acknowledged as setting new standards within the industry. Established in 2004 we are widely recognised as the market leader in safety training, this rapid growth and outstanding success is because the company has been built from the best of best stock within the safety industry. The Citrus Board and Senior Management Team gained their experience and qualifications from years of dedicated service within the training industry, in the UK and overseas. Importantly, we understand what impact our training can have on your business. We provide inspiring training that motivates individuals to achieve their full potential, thereby helping you achieve your corporate goals. It is this experience, together with our key values, innovative approaches and unique service levels, on which the foundations of Citrus were built.

Choosing the right NVQ provider matters just as much as choosing the right qualification.

In this video, Ben, one of our NVQ assessors, explains what sets Citrus Training apart.

Every programme begins with a structured induction, ensuring expectations are clear from the outset. Our assessors take the time to properly understand each candidate’s role and responsibilities, so evidence is accurate and relevant.

We are thorough in our approach, prioritising upholding the integrity of the qualification and flexible where operational demands require it. The result is a professional, well-managed process that works around site realities while maintaining standards.

Supervising the work or leading the project? The difference determines the NVQ level.

Ben, one of our assessors at Citrus Training, explains what makes a candidate eligible for a particular NVQ level and why that distinction is so important for employers.

• Level 3 and Level 4 is suitable for those operating in a supervisory capacity. Individuals who oversee teams, coordinate work on site, and take responsibility for day-to-day delivery.
• Level 6 and Level 7 is designed for those working at management level, with responsibility for planning, decision-making, programme oversight and overall site performance.

NVQs are assessed against real, on-the-job competence. If the qualification level does not accurately reflect the individual’s current role and responsibilities, they will not be able to produce the required evidence.

If you’re unsure which members of your team meet the criteria for Level 3 and 4 or Level 6 and 7 our NVQ team can provide clear, practical guidance.

Women continue to play a vital role across the built environment.

This week marks Women in Construction Week, a moment to celebrate the incredible contribution women make across the built environment.

Despite making up only around 15% of the UK construction workforce, women continue to break barriers, lead teams and inspire the next generation.

This year’s theme, “Level Up. Build Strong.”, reflects the growing influence of women in the sector and the importance of supporting opportunities that help everyone reach their full potential.

At Citrus Training, we’re proud to support initiatives that create opportunities, challenge stereotypes and encourage more women to build rewarding careers in construction.

To support this year’s theme, we’re revisiting conversations we had with six women across the industry, sharing honest reflections on career progression, leadership and opportunity in construction.

NRSWA isn't just a compulsory qualification, it’s the difference between a safe site and a serious incident. That’s why we don’t just "assess" our delegates, we prepare them for the reality of the job.

This footage shows our guided training in action. We provide the expert support delegates need to build total confidence before they begin the assessment.

Misunderstandings around NRSW rules often come down to habits, not a lack of knowledge.

In this video, Brian, one of our NRSW Trainer/Assessors, shares a simple but important reminder 👇
Knowing when to stop, slow down, and act courteously on the road is just as important as following the technical requirements.

These everyday decisions help prevent situations from escalating, keep worksites safe, and protect everyone using the road, from operatives to the public.

A top tip from Brian, one of our NRSW Trainer/Assessors 👇

Before your course, you’ll be sent information to help you refresh your knowledge ahead of the day. This gives you the chance to prepare, as NRSW courses assess existing competence rather than starting from scratch.

Taking a little time to go through this material beforehand can make a big difference when it comes to your assessment.
