We are Make 2nds Count, a UK-wide charity, dedicated to giving hope to women and men living with secondary (metastatic) breast cancer.
We are excited to be launching a new Scotland-based pilot service, for families affected by secondary breast cancer, offering:
• Up to five free sessions of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping) for patients and family members, conducted online with our EFT Practitioner.
• A Reflection Records conversation game for the family to play, with cards to write on to capture wishes and memories
• Sensory stickers to provide calm and focus
• A My Cancer Record booklet to document cancer history in a systematic way
• A dedicated web page with information and links to other charities
We’d be very grateful if you could share this with any families affected by secondary (metastatic) breast cancer in Scotland, who may benefit from this service. Your support in helping us reach those in need is invaluable.

🌸 Important Information about Breast Screening 🌸

We’d like to remind ladies who have been referred by their GP to the symptomatic one-stop breast clinic (for example, if you’ve found a lump or other breast changes) that you should not attend your routine breast screening appointment while waiting for your symptomatic clinic appointment.

👉 If you’ve already received a routine breast screening invitation while waiting for your symptomatic appointment, please cancel your routine screening and attend the symptomatic clinic first.

This is because the symptomatic clinic will carry out the necessary tests and investigations tailored to your specific symptoms.

✅ Once you have been seen at the symptomatic clinic, you will be advised when to return to the regular screening programme.

Your health and safety are our top priority. Thank you for helping us ensure the best care for everyone. 💕

A little reminder about referrals. 🌼

If your GP or hospital doctor has referred you for breast screening, you don't have to call the routine breast screening service. Instead please contact Referral Management on 01563 827070 who will be happy to help you with your appointment.❤.

This helps make sure you get booked in quickly and to the right clinic.

As always, if your due your routine breast screening invitation, you will be receive a letter through the post and can follow the instructions there.💌

We know it can be a bit confusing, so thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly.💓

💛 Today is all about you and your wellbeing! 🎉

International Self-Care Day is celebrated every year on 24 July and is a powerful reminder that self-care is not down to when you can fit it into your schedule or a treat once in a while. The date (24/7) symbolises that we should practice self-care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There are some simple ways to care for yourself today (and every day):

🛌 Sleep well – Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night

🚶‍♀️ Keep active – A short walk or any physical activity counts

🥗 Eat well – Fuel your body with a balanced and healthy diet

📵 Unplug – Step away from screens and reconnect with the world around you

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Connect – Spend time with loved ones or friends

🧘 Pause – Take 10 minutes for yourself to breathe and relax

Breast Cancer Awareness at Morven Day Centre.💌

Our Radiographers have been running Breast Cancer Awareness sessions at the Morven Day Centre in Kilmarnock, helping to spread vital information and support throughout the community.
On Friday we were proud to hand over a £242 donation to Kirsten from the centre, to support this incredibly valuable service.
