Thistle Help Thistle Help are mobility specialists based in Irvine and Crosshouse, Ayrshire. Thistle Help are committed to staff training on a continuous basis.

We supply a range of equipment including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, powerchairs, riser recliners, adjustable beds, daily living aids and wide fitting footwear. Thistle Help Ltd was founded in 2007 by George Ruddick and Laura Hays in order to provide a comprehensive range of assisted living aids that truly reflects the needs of those who require support for care and mobility:

Based in Ayrshire, Thistle Help's premises include a spacious showroom with parking outside. Staff regularly attend courses to develop their skills in order to provide an even better service. Courses undertaken include Moving & Handling, Trusted Adviser, Managing Development and numerous sales courses.

Happy 1st Anniversary today to Callum Stevenson our Warehouse & Delivery Operative!
Callum joined our team on 4th January 2025 and although it has only been a year, it seems longer. Alongside his colleagues, Callum ensures our warehouse runs efficiently and also delivers equipment to our lovely customers. Callum is also learning how to repair mobility equipment and carry out Loler inspection.

We had a lady in today and as she was leaving she stopped at the door and said "Girls all the best for the New Year and can I just say, what a pleasure it is to come into your showroom. You are all so helpful and welcoming and it is so nice to come in to somewhere where you feel important and looked after" I couldn't help but beam with pride at the team we have at Thistle Help.

Mobility Equipment Engineer

We are looking for a full time skilled and customer-focused Mobility Equipment Engineer to install, service, maintain and repair a wide range of mobility and access equipment. This role involves working both in customers’ homes and on-site, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Mobility Equipment Engineer, Service Engineer, or similar field-based engineering role preferred, but training can be provided to the ideal candidate
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
Experience working with mobility aids, lifting equipment or medical devices (desirable)
Ability to work independently
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Basic IT skills for completing reports and job updates
