Yesterday we celebrated Katy’s 100th birthday with great joy! We were delighted to welcome Samantha Jones, who sang classic songs from the 40s and 50s.

The birthday celebrations included a fabulous buffet prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. Later, we enjoyed a fantastic photo slideshow created by Katy’s family, showcasing her remarkable life 💙

A piece of local history came to life at Abbeyfield Castle Farm & The Grove, Gosforth The Grove recently with a special visit from Simon Smith, the great-grandson of Ringtons founder, Samuel Smith ☕ 🍫

Did you know The Grove was originally the Smith family home? Simon, along with his assistant Katy, shared wonderful stories and old pictures of the house, giving residents a unique glimpse into its past. The history lesson was perfectly accompanied by some Ringtons tea and biscuits!

It was a fantastic afternoon, with everyone enjoying a good chat and a cuppa. A huge thank you to Simon and Katy for such a memorable visit.

It’s Friday, which means it’s party time 🕺🎧

Fern House at Abbeyfield The Dales residents recently rocked out at a silent disco! The event was a huge hit, especially for those with hearing difficulties who could finally hear the music more clearly.

It was such a success, the residents are already planning a return visit from the DJ.

The residents of Abbeyfield Maidenhead's Nicholas House recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to Brighton.

No seaside adventure would be complete without delicious fish & chips, which everyone enjoyed. The day was a huge success, creating plenty of happy memories and smiles.

Mrs B had been reminiscing about making dough balls (dumplings) the other day, so off wee popped to the shops today for suet. We also got nice flowers for our front hall.
Mrs B had a great time mixing self raising flour, salt, pepper, parsley, water and the cold suet (with only a wee bit of help). She floured her hands and rolled the mixture into balls to pop on the mince tonight.

Today we had an afternoon tea the weather being so good just now. Lots of our residents and there families were out in the garden enjoying the sunshine. We had music, great sandwiches and lots of home made cakes. Today we had our VE day celebration afternoon tea. Music, fun, chat, laughter, reminiscing and a few tears but was a great day and at 3pm Mr C came and read Mr Churchills speech. The girls decided to test the gravy browning and coffee for stockings, coffee definitely came out on top well done to our two volunteers x
