Most of us carry some kind of disordered belief about food.
We’ve been fed misinformation for so long that it becomes ingrained — and breaking free from it isn’t always easy.

But small, consistent shifts do make a difference.
Every gentle choice you make can help quiet those old thoughts and reshape your relationship with food.

Be patient.
Be kind to yourself.
And remember: change happens when you choose to make it happen.

I’d love to know — what’s something you find yourself struggling with right now? 👇

Mindful eating can be incredibly helpful.

How many of you eat a chocolate bar or a slice of cake very quickly?

Often, we rush these foods because we feel guilty, as though we “shouldn’t” be having them.

But there shouldn’t be guilt or strict rules around food — food is just food.

ALL foods have their place.

There are no “good” or “bad” foods, no “clean” or “dirty” foods.

Some foods do need to be eaten more often because their nutrients support our health.

Other foods, when enjoyed in moderation, are equally important for pleasure, social connection, and mental wellbeing.

Food is part of celebrations, traditions, comfort, and life events — avoiding certain foods entirely is unrealistic.

So instead, we can learn how to live with all foods without letting them negatively impact our health or weight.

One helpful strategy is mindful eating.

If there’s something you enjoy but normally feel guilty about, try this:

• Choose a time when you can sit down and relax

• Remove distractions

• Eat slowly and really notice the flavours, textures, and smells

When you take your time, you’re more likely to truly enjoy it, feel satisfied, and avoid the urge to keep wanting more.

You’ve made a conscious choice, in a mindful setting, to enjoy that food — and that alone can change the whole experience.

I hope this helps.

It’s steam-rolling into Christmas—food everywhere, parties filling the calendar, life getting louder by the day.

But if you’ve got a goal, don’t let Christmas be the moment you slam on the brakes.

This season doesn’t have to be a setback. It can be a springboard.

You don’t need perfection. You don’t need to overhaul your life.

You just need to keep something moving—your body, your mindset, your momentum.

Small choices add up.

A little consistency now means you’ll feel physically and mentally stronger when Christmas arrives—

proud of yourself instead of sitting there like a sack of potatoes wishing you hadn’t given up the second things got festive.

Show yourself what you’re capable of.

Finish the year with your head high, not your motivation on pause.

You’ve still got time. Use it.

You’re worth the effort.

Don’t get lost.

When you’re training for your mental health, it’s unbelievably easy to slide into perfectionism—

chasing certain numbers, trying to look a certain way, obsessing over getting every movement exactly right.

But numbers and I don’t get along at the best of times.

So when I start measuring everything, I stop feeling everything.

And that’s when the whole point of training slips away.

Some days the win isn’t a heavier lift or a faster time—

it’s just showing up, breathing, moving, giving yourself space.

Progress isn’t always something you can count.

Sometimes it’s something you can only feel.

Being Basic Isn’t Boring — It’s the Foundation of Good Nutrition

In a world of “superfoods,” detox teas, and flashy supplements, it’s easy to forget that the basics still work.

The truth?
You don’t need an exotic powder or a 10-step meal plan to eat well.
You need consistency with the fundamentals:
🥗 Plenty of fruits and vegetables
🍞 Whole grains
🍗 Protein with each meal
💧 Enough water
😴 Adequate sleep and stress management

It’s not trendy. It’s not exciting. But it’s what actually makes a difference.

Every long-term, sustainable nutrition approach — from weight management to better energy — comes back to doing the basics well, consistently.

So if your nutrition feels “boring,” you’re probably on the right track.

Stick with simple. That’s where the magic happens. ✨

If you need help with this, online or in person, you know where I am 😉

Starving vs. Hungry 🍽️

There’s a big difference between being hungry and being starving.

Being hungry means your body is ready for nourishment. You’re anticipating your next meal — alert, aware, and in tune with what you need.

Being starving means your body is deprived — running on empty, stressed, and desperate for fuel.

It’s okay (and even healthy) to be a little hungry sometimes. It reminds you that your body works, that food is fuel, and that balance matters.

You don’t need to panic at every sign of hunger.
Pause, breathe, and know — you’re just ready for your next meal.

The Hard Truth

Change takes work—constant work.

Two weeks of effort won’t undo years of habits. If you want lasting results, you need to reshape your daily life around your goals.

That means:

- Building a solid routine

- Planning meals

- Writing shopping lists

- Scheduling exercise

These things don’t “just happen.” Every week, you must carve out time for them.

That’s how change sticks.

Now go make change happen, you got this 💪🏼

Stop this now!!

Basically eating snacks as meals at breakfast and lunch… only to wonder why you’re absolutely starving by the evening.

You know the drill:

- Breakfast = a granola bar on the go

- Lunch = chips, coffee, and maybe a “healthy” protein bar

- Dinner = “why am I so hungry I could eat the fridge?”

If you’re tired of that cycle, you don’t need a total diet overhaul — just add real fuel earlier in the day.

Think protein + fiber + fats: eggs, yogurt, oats, fruit, nuts — simple stuff that actually keeps you full.

Your future self at 6 PM will thank you. ☺️

Ultra-Processed Foods (UPFs): Hot Topic, But No Need to Panic

Ultra-processed foods are all over the headlines right now — and social media is having a field day with fear-based messaging. But let’s pause for a moment.

Yes, research shows that diets high in UPFs are linked with poorer health outcomes. But that doesn’t mean every food that falls under the “UPF” label is automatically harmful, or that you need to purge your pantry.

The truth is:

✅ The NOVA classification system — which defines UPFs — is broad. It can lump together fizzy drinks and fortified cereals, flavoured yoghurts and protein bars. Context matters.

✅ Processing can improve food safety, shelf life, and accessibility — important factors for many households.

✅ Balance and overall diet quality matter far more than whether something is technically “ultra-processed.”

So rather than fearing UPFs, focus on:

- Eating mostly whole or minimally processed foods when you can.

- Enjoying UPFs that make your diet more practical, varied, or enjoyable.

- Ignoring the online hysteria and tuning into evidence and balance.

Nutrition isn’t black and white — and neither are UPFs
