Easter is always my fav celebration time of the year, but I find it hard to avoid the chocolate temptation. If you are currently staring at a wall of easter eggs and feeling a bit overwhelmed with temptation to indulge, heres a recipe for a yummy, yet healthier way to enjoy some of that easter egg chocolate. Ideally this is best using 70%+ cacao content dark chocolate, as this is where the true health benefits lie, but it works with milk chocolate too. The extra virgin olive oil in this recipe is another great boost of antioxidants along with healthy fats and fibre from the nuts and seeds. They make fab gifts to give away too.

Top tip for Monday.....Try adding these little nutritional powerhouses to your breakfast, lunch or dinner, they are one of my fav fruits as have so much flavour and perk up any meal or drink. Eating them in their whole form straight from the fruit itself is the best way as they will contain fibre too su h great for your gut. Try to avoid the supermarket pomegranate juices as often they contain lots of added sugar and these are sweet enough as they are.

Its not surprising that you will often see pomegranate in beauty products, as its packed full of vitamin C, which as we know is a key nutrient in anti ageing, but they are also iron rich so these are a great way to improve the absorption potential of any iron rich meals like lentil dishes, just sprinkle on top.

Warning: Take caution with high levels of pomegranate consumption if you are taking blood thinners like Warfarin, ACE inhibitors or even blood pressure medication....check with your GP

4 easy tips for starting your day in a positive way. Its clinically proven that mindful practises can boost our moods and the key to this is consistency, small and often changes can make a huge difference if we stick to them over time. There are so many different techniques we can use to achieve these mood boosting health effects and these are my fav 4.

I've always found it hard to wake up in the morning, being a late night owl rather than an early lark, but over the last few years this has all changed....partly due to having children, however I've also noticed a big difference to my mood when I wake slightly earlier and take a little time for myself and think about the day ahead and what I'm looking forward too, rather than waking late and rushing around, which is guaranteed to set myself up for a foul mood and poor food choices the rest of the day.

This 4:4:4 deep breathing technique is so simple and can be practised for as little or as much time as you have.....you can even do it on the bus, train, office, with your kids....whenever you start to feel the stress building
