A New Chapter for Role 1 Medical
We have exciting news—Role 1 Medical Ltd is now Role 1 Medical & Rescue CIC!
Over the coming days, you will see changes to our name and branding as we become a Community Interest Company (CIC). This transformation is driven by our strong moral and ethical belief that monetising healthcare will never deliver for those who matter most - our patients.
Instead, we are committed to a sustainable, patient-focused approach, ensuring that every resource is reinvested into improving care, training, and support for our communities.
We are exceptionally proud to be reimagining what a contemporary medical and rescue organisation look like, in what we believe is a UK first in the pre-hospital emergency ambulance and rescue sector.
Why the Change?
Our mission has always been to provide high-quality, prehospital emergency care and rescue services—and we believe a not-for-profit model is the best way to achieve this. By becoming a CIC, we are stepping away from a profit-driven business structure and embracing a model that prioritises people over profit. This decision reflects our core values, ensuring that we support, augment, and enhance NHS emergency medical services in a way that is ethical, sustainable, and beneficial to the communities we serve. Truly designed and fit for purpose in the 21st Century, not merely an evolution and adaptation of existing services.
Our Roots & Commitment to Excellence
The name Role 1 originates from the military medical system, where “Role 1” care refers to immediate, front-line medical treatment at the point of injury or illness. With our leadership team and many of our staff having served in the British Armed Forces, we bring this ethos of dedication, discipline, and excellence to everything we do. This transition to a CIC is not just a business decision—it reflects our values and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional emergency medical and rescue services alongside our underpinning values and standards.
