Please join us in welcoming case manager Amy to the team!

Amy joins us with over 20 years of experience caring for individuals with profound needs and has a reputation for managing not only the physical, but the emotional and mental consequences of injury. The needs of her clients, their loved ones and carers are always considered, given Amy's person-centred, holistic approach. She advocates strongly for her clients to ensure they receive the best available services, and, as an OT, Amy is also particularly skilled in meeting housing, adaptation, and equipment needs.

Amy's specialisms include:

Last week, we had a brilliant team meeting at The Watermark, Ivybridge, with our Case Managers and team to have our catch-up and take part in Brain Injury Training with Brain Injury Specialist and retired Occupational Therapist, Penny Weekes. It was a really insightful session, and we are grateful to Penny for taking the time to speak with us.

We finished the session with an update on the latest employment law changes from our Business Support Manager, Rebecca.

Today, we are so pleased to introduce one of our newest case managers, Mandatt!

Mandatt has joined us with extensive experience in working with children and young people, with a background as working as an occupational therapist. Mandatt works with clients who have complex physical and developmental needs across schools, home and community settings.

Mandatt's specialisms include:

🩵 Brain injury and birth-related neurological conditions
🩵 Cerebral Palsy
🩵 Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
🩵 Sensory processing differences
🩵 Autism and neurodevelopmental conditions

Sally, one of our case managers at StanleySmith, was pleased to attend the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) event at Enable Law yesterday.

Sally shared that it was incredibly valuable to hear about the ongoing work within the National Clinic Enquiry (NCE), with Kate Tantum delivering a passionate and insightful talk. She highlighted patients' rights to rehabilitation and explored how we can drive national action to better support individuals leaving ICU.

Sally also heard from Alyson Norman, who shared the inspiring work of her charity, Anchor Point, which is dedicated to improving the lives of families affected by acquired brain injury.

The event concluded with a great opportunity to connect with others in the field, sharing updates on local charities and services and strengthening professional networks.

Sending a big thank you to UKABIF for hosting such a fantastic and impactful event!
