On Friday evening, a few of us at StanleySmith had the pleasure of joining a fantastic Quiz Night to raise funds for an incredible cause 🩵

Karen Walker, a Solicitor at Wolferstans, is fundraising for ahead of running the London Marathon in April. Headway Plymouth are a local non-profit charity dedicated to supporting individuals, families and carers affected by acquired brain injury.

This week, we are spotlighting another of our excellent clinical case managers, Jen! 🎉

Jen is an Occupational Therapist, specialising in equipment and housing adaptations for her clients. Jen is also very experienced in coordinating large multi-disciplinary teams and has worked with clients with acquired brain injuries, complex neurological conditions and orthopaedic conditions.

Earlier this week, directors Heidi and Nikki, and our development officer, Liz, had the pleasure of presenting to the Devon & Cornwall regional group of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

This meeting was a brilliant opportunity to talk to local clinical negligence and personal injury lawyers about how best to serve our mutual clients.

Liz focused on the law, guidance, and practical points surrounding clinical case management, and the directors explained their passion for case management and used case studies to illustrate how it can vastly improve clients’ lives in ways which would never have been possible without case managers overseeing their rehabilitation”

Brain Tumour Awareness Month is working to raise awareness and drive crucial change , driving for earlier diagnoses, fairer access to treatment and rehabilitation, better access to mental health support and increased investments into research.

Meet Emma, one of our brilliant clinical case managers ✨

An experienced Occupational Therapist, specialising in neurological conditions including acquired brain injury, Emma works with both young people and adults. Emma has a breadth of experience, particularly regarding the impact of brain injury and neurodiversity in teenagers, working closely on EHCPs, with schools, local authorities and statutory services to ensure the best outcomes for her clients.

Emma has experience with local authorities, organising and sourcing equipment, and is very happy to travel to ensure that clients across a range of counties (from Somerset to Essex and Northamptonshire to Hampshire) benefit from her specialist experience 🩵
