I help women (and men), improve their quality of life through therapeutic yoga, mindfulness meditation and breath work. This approach fosters self compassion, a strong healthy body, improving mobility, flexibility and helps develop inner resilience. I am a fully qualified and insured yoga teacher trained by the Sivananda Vedanta School of yoga with additional training in adaptive yoga and yoga therapy. I have been teaching asana, pranayama, mindful meditation and yoga nidra to beginners since January 2015, primarily to veterans and more recently peri and post menopausal women.

Here’s just a quick reminder that I’m running a men’s only yoga class on Tuesday afternoon - 2pm. Beginners welcome.
You don’t need to be able to touch your toes or tie yourself in knots, just come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

We got to choose our formation and make it happen. I went for the easiest pose possible 😆😬🫢

Chronic inflammation is linked to myriad conditions including poor cardiovascular health, weakened immune system function, anxiety, depression, and even dementia.
New exciting research suggests that yoga may alter markers of gene expression linked to inflammation.
Halasana, also known as the Plow Pose, is a yoga pose that involves lying on your back, lifting your legs over your head until your toes touch the floor behind you. Here are some benefits:
1. **Stretches the Spine**: Lengthens and strengthens the spine, improving flexibility.
2. **Relieves Stress**: Calms the mind and reduces stress and fatigue.
3. **Improves Digestion**: Stimulates abdominal organs and aids digestion.
4. **Enhances Blood Circulation**: Promotes better blood flow throughout the body.
5. **Reduces Back Pain**: Alleviates tension in the back and shoulders.
6. **Boosts Metabolism**: Helps regulate metabolism and body weight.
Halasana is typically practiced towards the end of a yoga session for its calming and restorative effects.
Although considered a beginner yoga pose, I would suggest that if you have any neck issues you shouldn’t be trying this.

Today I held my first men’s yoga class in Ermington Hub!
What a great group of students they were - open hearts and open minds and brave enough to give it a go.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this group grow and develop.
You’re never too old or inflexible to start, so if you’d still like to join us, please contact me soon as space is very limited.

I’m very excited to announce that I am starting a new yoga class for men in Ermington Hub on Tuesday 23rd April
This class is aimed at men who may not have considered or tried yoga before but would like to work on their flexibility, mobility and core strength.
Perhaps you want to continue playing your favourite sport without injury or pain? Yoga can enhance fitness, balance, flexibility, muscular strength and agility. And it’s good for your mental health 💙
No special equipment or clothing is required. I have a few spare mats and props and all you need is loose clothes like shorts or joggers.
Please contact me if you are interested in coming along.

I have been practicing yoga for over 18 years but really came to love yoga when I was recovering from frozen shoulder and contemplating life after a redundancy at work, (20+ years working in Mental Health). So my route into yoga was therapeutic. On a mountain retreat in Turkey, surrounded by the sounds of birds and goats, the smell of wild herbs, watching the sun set over the distant mountains, I had what I can only describe as an epiphany. For the first time ever I felt at home in my body. I decided in there and then that I wanted to share this feeling with others.
One year later, and a 5350 mile trip to India, I became a fully qualified yoga teacher. I trained at the Sivananda Vedanta School of yoga. I have since gone on to study Yin Yoga Level 1 under Sarah Lo, (Insight Yoga), Para Yoga Nidra Immersive with Rod Styker, Adaptive Yoga with Suzie Jennings (Kripalu Yoga & Help for Heroes) and Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs with Alison Trewhela. I am currently completing my Postgraduate Yoga Therapy course with Devon School of Yoga. I continue to grow and develop my knowledge of yoga as a therapeutic tool.
My particular areas of interest are
Yoga for depression, anxiety and improving mental health
PTSD and Trauma informed yoga
Yoga for managing low back pain and SI joint instability
Yoga for aging well
Yoga for menopause
I have been teaching asana, pranayama, mindful meditation and yoga nidra to beginners since January 2015, primarily to veterans and wounded servicemen.
Like my students, I am at the beginning of my learning and I can't wait to see where it will take me.
