MA in Integrative Counselling; Cert Ed; HND in Counselling; HNC in Counselling; MBACP; Certificate in Supervision. Paula has over 18 years counselling experience in a range of organisations dealing with Drug/Alcohol misuse, Domestic Violence, Childhood Abuse, Bereavement, Family/Relationship problems, Adolescence, and other common counselling issues, as well as running a private practice offering
counselling and supervision. Paula is primarily trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor but works and teaches in an integrative way, strongly believing that it is very difficult to fit a client into one theory, recognising it is more beneficial to apply an understanding of theories to client issues to ensure the client always receives the best service possible. She also has a very good knowledge and understanding of Humanistic Theories and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and believes they all have equal importance and a place in the counselling relationship. As well as her counselling work she has also been a lecturer in counselling, teaching from level 2 (beginner) to level 5 (practitioner status) programmes in South Tyneside and County Durham for over 18 years. She is also a qualified counselling Supervisor and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and The National Counselling Society. Paula is very enthusiastic and has a strong passion for her work as a counsellor and trainer and always strives to give the very best service to all who work with her.
