Pride at South Tyneside ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Sparkles and rainbows are flying again, it's time to celebrate people. LOVE IS LOVE.

Today at the South Tyneside branch we celebrated Pride. We have decorated the office and put on a little buffet. We all came into work today dressed in bright colours. We also all chose a colour from one of the flags and brought in food of that colour for our buffet. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

South Tyneside Extra Care receive positive feedback

When you receive these pictures from one of your team you just can't help but smile and share ๐Ÿ™‚
The Team at our South Tyneside Extra Care received this lovely handmade card from Tom one of our service users today and we do not think his words could say it any better in outlining a journey back to recovery. With his permission he has asked that we share this, in his words โ€˜tell the worldโ€™.
โ€˜I really appreciate everything you've done since I moved here. I know it's been a journey and a half for all but otherwise we'd be knacked. ๐Ÿ˜‚Life is like snakes and ladders, we roll the dice, sometimes go back to square one, it's testing right? I am so very grateful and can't thank you all enough for your professionalism, especially when you bend over backwards to help out. On the front page is where I need to get back to. You're all amazing and making the dream work.โ€™
Tom is a service user who lives in our Bramble Court Extra care scheme. He was placed in a care home despite being only 50 years old following a stroke that left him with weakness,. He is an electric chair user and would ensure he was out of the care home most days, he was then relocated to Bramble Court as an Extra care setting was a better fit for him and his needs. He is a great singer and has an incredible career singing in lots of different locations and events. His main goal is to get back doing what he loves the most , which is to be on the stage.
He supports other service users in the scheme to get together by arranging events he has arranged the VE day celebrations, organises parties for other service users birthdays and he holds a karaoke night every Saturday he also organises singers to play in bramble every Monday. He is also currently organising a charity fundraising event at Bramble Court on 28.08.2026. The team have described him as a gentleman with a heart of gold.
Thank you to our Team in South Tyneside Extra Care scheme and to Tom for all the incredible things he also does ๐Ÿ’œ

Mental Health Awareness Week at South Tyneside ๐Ÿ’š

Today in the south Tyneside branch we have celebrated mental health week. We all came in today wearing the colour green in honour of mental health. We set up a little task where we had to say something positive about another colleague. Please see the comments attached to this post. Here at South Tyneside we have a fabulous mental health first aider Lynsey and she is fantastic and Lynsey helped plan this activity today. I believe we all hold mental health very close to our chest due to the sector that we work in and it is nice to have a week to celebrate this. Always remember it is okay not to be okay. It is not weak to ask for help and support.

' Healing takes time and asking for help is a courageous step. ' ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Easter at South Tyneside 2026

The Easter Bunny paid a lovely visit to Bramble Court our lovely extra care scheme yesterday. We had a donation of Easter Eggs handed into the branch during the lead up to Easter by both branch staff and our wonderful care workers. In total we had over 60 Easter Eggs donated to us. Both the clients and the care workers absolutely loved the Easter Bunny and they were so amazed that they visited the scheme. The clients were so thankful for their Easter Eggs, Mini Eggs and their little Creme Eggs.
Happy Easter everyone from Cera Care South Tyneside. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฃ

As professional carers, you know that the "basics" are often the most important parts of providing good quality care ๐Ÿ

This week is Nutrition and Hydration week. We know that these are the foundation of keeping our clients safe, sharp, and independent in their own homes. Staying vigilant about a missed meal or a glass of water can be the difference between a thriving service user and a hospital admission ๐Ÿฉบ

Thank you for the expert eye you bring to every visit. We are so proud to support you. Refresh your knowledge on supporting nutrition and hydration here: https://bit.ly/4iGrcj1
