SPEAR OF DESTINY were formed in 1983 after the demise of Kirk Brandon’s post punk iconic rockers THEATRE OF HATE. (Brandon had also, before TOH, been the main man in every punk rockers favourite band of that era, The Pack)

The current line up of Spear is the longest serving to date and features Adrian Portas (New Model Army / S*x Gang Children), Craig Adams (Sisters of Mercy / The Cult / The Mission) and Phil Martini (Jim Jones and the Righteous Mind) on drums. The recording line up was boasted by Saxophonist Clive Osborne. Long time Brandon collaborator Steve Allen-Jones completes the band line up on keyboards..

Post Pandemic has seen SOD play some fabulous club shows and festivals including sell out shows at the iconic 100 Club in London, Manchester Ritz and Glasgow Oran Mor. SOD's performances at Sign of the Times, Rebellion and Kubix festivals have heralded fantastic reviews “Festival Stealing Dream set” wrote The Northern Echo.

During the Winter of 2024 Spear took to the road with long term friend Richard Jobson who was fronting a revitalised line up of the much loved Post Punk Heroes THE SKIDS. That amazing line played close to 30 shows across the UK, many being complete sell outs...

For SPEAR OF DESTINY 2025 & 2026 will be the years of 'Janus”. Janus The Recordings are the choicest cuts from the band's two biggest selling albums, Outland & The Price You Pay. 24 tracks re-recorded and re-imagined, beautifully packaged and presented on Double Vinyl, Extended Double CD and Download. Janus The Tour will pull a set list from these fantatsic new recordings.

This week at MacArts we're celebrating upcoming talent with our latest in our Incubator Sessions featuring Juliana, Mixed Signals, Dylan Wilson and Kalamity.

Juliana:

I’m Juliana! I’m a big fan of people and music is one of the best things we’ve created. I sing covers and I’m currently attempting writing originals. It’s hard but I’ll get there, in the meantime I take song recommendations from friends and family so I can play what they want to hear.

​Mixed signals

We are a small band based Scottish borders. We have lead singer Antigone and guitarist Alex. We take inspiration from artists such as 5 seconds of summer, waterparks, blink - 182 and many more artists to perform covers and compose original songs.

Dylan Wilson:

Dylan Wilson’s live show is a musical experience with the emphasis on experience. Soaring to heights hitherto undiscovered by humanity one minute, and completely falling apart the next. That’s life. That’s rock ‘n’ roll, and that is Dylan Wilson.

Kalamity:

They may shock you with whatever song is next on their setlist, but Kalamity always makes it their own and brings the vibe back to rock ‘n’ roll, making it seem like even a pop song belongs in the rock genre. They pull inspiration from a selection of bands such as ACDC, Paramore and Måneskin. A night spent with Kalamity is like a Time Machine of music. Join them in every era and rock on.

So we have had great feedback on our Cascara.
Coffee Cascara is an alternative to a fruit tea and is made from Coffee Cherry once the bean has been extracted. Full of vitamins and minerals as well as a small amount of natural caffeine.

Refreshing as a hot or indeed chilled drink.

Comes in a 100g bag at £7.50

Use between 10-15g of cascara per cup. Brew for 6-8 mins and ENJOY!

Barcelona Rock Fest 2026 completa el cartel de su X Edition con las últimas bandas confirmadas para los días 3, 4 y 5 de julio de 2026 en el Parc de Can Zam de Santa Coloma de Gramenet.

La décima edición de Barcelona Rock Fest cuenta con nombres legendarios en cada una de sus jornadas como Megadeth dentro de su tour de despedida y S*x Pistols tras su vuelta con el frenético Frank Carter a la voz el viernes 3 de julio; la majestuosidad del power y heavy metal que comandará el sábado 4 de julio con Helloween dentro de su gira 40º aniversario, Sabaton desplegando todo su arsenal sobre el escenario o los incombustibles Accept con su batería de hits y, por último, continúa con otros grandes del género el domingo 5 de julio como Powerwolf que se aúnan con los pilares fundamentales del punk rock como The Offspring y Bad Religion para abrir la propuesta estilística y tener a referentes de los diversos géneros que sonarán en Can Zam.

Junto a estas grandes bandas hay una cantidad enorme de artistas con diferentes sonidos e influencias que harán disfrutar a lo largo de las tres jornadas como Breaking Benjamin, Steel Panther, Bleed From Within, Testament, Loudness, Na**lm Death, Tyketto, Blues Pills, Chevelle, Gotthard, Tankard y muchos más grupos de una enorme calidad que desplegarán su potencial este Barcelona Rock Fest 2026.

Cavalera Conspiracy con los hermanos Cavalera reviviendo su legado, Pretty Maids con el poderoso Ronnie Atkins al frente y otros artistas de calidad y potencia asegurada como Rat-Zinger, Starace, Machete Law y T.N.T. se añaden en el día de hoy al resto de bandas anunciadas para cerrar el cartel.
