I started the year with this book as my main new spiritual text to conquer. It's one I had been meaning to delve into for a while as the concept of how it came into existence always fascinated me. The almost atheist authors having the text apparently channeled to them directly from Jesus. I'm not a follower of anything really in life. I struggle with group identity as it rarely allows room for individuality and personal expression and I find that can dumb me down a little and sometimes (not always of course) suppress growth. Religion , therefore , has never really worked for me. Instead I have always been a bit of a spiritual magpie, borrowing teachings from all spiritual places, dipping in and out of various groups, stealing what i connect with in order to form my own personal doctrine of life.
This book has been very tough I have to say. I never usually struggle with anything that talks about God. I choose just to replace God with Source or Universe really as for me it's the same thing. However I have actually struggled with the religious verbage of this book. It has left me sometimes feeling preached at rather than enlightened and called into, as i perceive it, the
"dangerous" world of religion, dogma and group thought again !
Once I got over that though there is some really great fundamental reminders in this book. Living each day in the light of love, freeing yourself from the ties of guilt and embracing the tenets of forgiveness to free your energy from fear and negativity. We all need reminding of that !
Today is day 97 of 2026 and the daily lesson in the workbook section of this book is entitled " I am Spirit ". I love this reminder. A reminder that, in our truest incarnations, we are all "God" we are all "Spirit". There is no distinction here, we are not part of God (Source/ Universe) we ARE, all of us, God itself, (Holy) Spirit incarnate and the Universe. We are not from or part of a creator we ARE the creator. I love this....such power that we all hold and a great reminder for me that THIS type of group identity that we are all a part of and all of the Universe ourselves and with and as each other, THAT is a group identity I don't mind subscribing to at all.
