Life can be a rollercoaster ride at times - that feeling of panic or excitement when faced with a perceived challenge and the sudden drop in mood once the situation has passed. How can we deal more effectively with our increased levels of stress and anxiety? Well whether you get pleasure out of fun fair rides or find find pleasure in other ways, we should be trying to something that brings us enjoyment. When we choose positive actions to focus on, instead of being drawn to ruminating over the ‘what if’s’, we can distract ourselves from unhelpful thoughts. Spend time with loved ones or sit down with your favourite book or magazine and switch your mind from focusing on negative things to positive things. Distraction is a good method. Give your mind ‘a big dipper’ moment!
