Nail infection is typically difficult to treat as the nail plate acts as a barrier to where the infection is rife (under the nail).

There are, however, some remedies that have been proven to be effective, one remedy being oral medication (terbinafine).
These are safe and effective tablets that can be used to eradicate the infection. They are subject to nail sample testing positive for fungus and a liver function test from your GP. These are usually taken for a few months.

The treatment that is best suited to you will be based on the presentation of the nail, the history of the problem, your medical history and your personal decision. This is why it is VITAL to seek out the help of a Foot Health Practitioner (us :)) before deciding any home treatment.
At best, home treatments may be ineffective, and at worst, harmful!

There are, however, some remedies that have been proven to be effective, one remedy being Lamisil 1% spray.

Lamisil 1% spray is only effective if there is access to the nail bed, thus either the loose nail is cut back far enough or small holes are drilled painlessly into the nail by us, to apply this spray.

The treatment that is best suited to you will be based on the presentation of the nail, the history of the problem, your medical history and your personal decision. This is why it is VITAL to seek out the help of a Foot Health Practitioner (us :)) before deciding any home treatment.
