2024 has been the most challenging and rewarding year beyond any imagination.

Chief amongst the year's achievements have been not 1 but 2 of the amazing women in our team bringing their first children into the world.

We've grown from a team of 2 podiatrists to 4 and number 5 on the way very soon. In the last 6 months, we've moved to our new practice with major upgrades in our clinical spaces and a private gym & rehab suite (a video tour is in the works!).

Yep. We've been busy.

We are proud of all that has been achieved and deeply moved by the tireless support and kindness of our friends, family and patients. You know who you are but you don't know how much you mean to us.

I'm very grateful to the Royal College of Podiatry Edinburgh Branch for the invitation to speak at the iconic St Leonard's Hall in a week's time. Tickets are available from the members section of the RCoP website (free for students).

I've never been to St Leonard's before and in doing a little Wikipedia search, I learnt that the building was used as a Red Cross hospital during World War I, and was then a school, St Trinnean's School for Girls, until World War II. And yes, it is said to be the inspiration for the same St Trinnean's you probably thought of too!

Really looking forward to the visit, hearing from other speakers and meeting up with colleagues. The Edinburgh Branch went through a short hiatus and was sorely missed so it's great to see it back up and running!

This unique, highly practical introduction to diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections of the Foot and Ankle is specifically developed for podiatrists, physiotherapists, sports physicians and foot and ankle surgeons. This course is designed for beginners to diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound guided injection skills and to those looking to further develop and refine their skills.

The course is taught in small groups with high end ultrasound machines, under the close supervision of our expert tutors, tailored to your individual level of competency. As such, numbers are very limited and we advise booking early if possible.

We cannot thank Alastair , Kenny and Graham (Dall Orthopaedics) enough for giving up their Saturday to impart their skills and knowledge to our delegates. The whole point of the event was for everyone to head into clinic on Monday, better prepared to help their patients with achilles pain and to that end - mission accomplished! ๐Ÿ˜

It is a great pleasure to announce our new clinicโ€™s first CPD event all about the Achilles Tendon!

We are thrilled to be welcoming experts speakers including:

Kenny Watt (Project: Physio), MSK & Sports Physiotherapist
Graham Dall (Dall Orthopaedics), Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Outline of the day:

Our group of speakers got together at Footcare Scotland in Perth last year and the feedback the feedback from the event was excellent. We really enjoyed it and are delighted to go for round 2 in Kelso.

Invitation to the event is initially being offer to Podiatrists of any level of experience, with an interest in Achilles tendon problems. It is limited to 20 people on a first come first served basis.

We will be discussing pretty much everything you need to know about achilles tendons over a combination of talks, LOTS of hands-on practical and a chance to learn about some fun toys like force plates, 3D gait analysis and diagnostic ultrasound. The whole point is for everyone to feel like they can go back into clinic on Monday as a better clinician at helping patients with achilles problems.

Date: Saturday the 12th of October
Time: Registration 9:00 - 9:15, Talks and workshops 9:30am - 3:30pm (approximately). Lunch included.
Fee: ยฃ25

Due to the extensive parking restrictions and road closures necessary to run such an
event, we have closed the clinic for the day and will reopen as usual tomorrow.
